Prompt from @cinamoncune: Maybe a little field trip outside of Lazytown with Sportarobbie & the kids gone wrong
It’s a little short, but I hope you enjoy it anyways!
Robbie should’ve realized that it was suspicious when Sportacus invited him to a day at the beach. But he got swept up by the idea of taking a nap with the sound of the waves in his ears and his handsome boyfriend beside him.
He should’ve said no once he realized he was gettin roped into babysitting. He wanted to. But the damn puppy dog eyes were all too much.
“Hey! Tricky! Don’t run off before you get sunscreen!” Robbie shouted, spraying Ziggy with sunscreen.
“Why do I need it?” Trixie groaned.
“Because you’re gonna get burnt if you don’t put some on!” Robbie snapped. “C’mon. The longer you wait, the longer you’ll have to wait until it dries.”
“Ugh fine.” Trixie walked over to Robbie, holding her arms out in a t-pose as Robbie sprayed her down.
“Go wait by the water with the others.” Robbie said, ruffling her hair and shooing her away.
“You’re cute with the kids.” Sportacus smiled at him as he rubbed lotion into his arms.
Robbie rolled his eyes, but he was given away by the slight flush to his cheeks. “Do you need some help?”
“Could you get my back?” Sportacus asked.
“Oh the double entendre.” Robbie teased.
“Robbie, the kids aren’t that far away.” Sportacus said with a chuckle as Robbie helped him cover his back with sunscreen.
“And whose fault is that?” Robbie quirked a brow. “We could be having a nice romantic day at the beach, but instead you invited the brats out and thought to bring me as additional babysitting.”
“Robbie.” Sportacus sighed, crossing his arms over his chest.
“You go watch the brat brigade. I’ll be taking a nap over here.” Robbie said, leaning down to kiss Sportacus’ cheek.
“Don’t you need help with the sun screen?” Sportacus asked.
“No, I’m fine.” Robbie waved him off. “I’m gonna stay under the umbrella anyways.”
Robbie flopped down onto his beach towel. For a moment he sat up, watching Sportacus and the kids starting to run into the waves, shouting back and forth cheerfully. He laid back, letting his eyes fall shut. It wasn’t the perfect afternoon he had originally envisioned, but it was nice in its own way. With warm sand beneath him, a gentle breeze in his face, and the distant familiar voices meshing with the waves, Robbie fell asleep with warmth in his chest.
He woke up with a different feeling of warmth. “Robbie… oh no.” Sportacus said, looking down at him.
Robbie’s skin was tinted pink from the sun. It didn’t hurt yet, but he knew he was going to have a sunburn. Thankfully all the kids were safe, but–
“Hey!” Robbie exclaimed as Trixie poked his side.
“Sorry, it’s just fun to watch your skin change colors.” She shrugged. “Maybe you should’ve put on sunscreen like the rest of us.”
Robbie shot a glare at her. “Shut up.” He grumbled.
“It’s alright, Robbie.” Sportacus sighed. “We’ll get home and then once everything’s all put away, we’ll cover you up in aloe vera.” He promised.
“Please Sportacus, there are children around.”Robbie teased, gathering up his towel and leaving the rest of them to collect their things. Sportacus’ face got as pink as Robbie’s and Robbie laughed, feeling vindicated as he walked.
