Pixar could very well end the Toy Story franchise with one more movie in 2025. 30 years after the first. We’d catch up with Woody and Bo, still out there going town to town with the carnival when they roll up to a place that seems all too familiar. Sid’s the garbage man, the daycare is still running, and even the pizza place is still trucking. Speaking of, there’s the truck!
So the carnival settles down for a few days next to a flea market. Woody and Bo head out to scour the grounds for lost toys and stumble upon the old gang. Bonnie’s older now and let her uncle take her toys to the flea market. While Woody is elated to see his old friends, he’s instantly saddened as he watches Dolly and Trixie sold, Mr. Pricklepants and Buttercup are picked up soon after. Adventure, impassioned monologues, an elaborate plot to get them back so they can be lost together all get us to the pivotal moment…they hear a familiar voice. It’s Andy!
Now Andrew, he’s with his wife and their son, AJ (Andy Jr.). Once they get Andrew to trip over the box of toys, he looks down and cannot believe his eyes. Despite Woody’s missing voice box, after years of running around, lost, the bottom of Woody’s boot has worn and and one can just barely make out “Andy” on the bottom - but it’s there. Andrew then asks the guy how much? Hands him the money, and we end with Andrew and AJ playing together with Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and all the rest of the gang.
