❥ Movie: Isle of Dogs (dir. Wes Anderson) ❥ 2018 ❥ Entry #304
Translate review: A beautiful film from which we can extrapolate multiple lessons. First, we must be cautious of political discourses that, in difficult times, seek to generate a sense of belonging in their community through the classic “Us vs. Them,” marginalizing others in the process. On the other hand, Chief, my favorite character, reflects someone who has believed down to his very core what has been said about him. Yet it is empathy that allows him to evolve.
New concept: Self-fulfilling prophecy A phenomenon in which an initial expectation, even if false, influences behavior to the point of causing that expectation to come true.
