Road Trip? | Julian & Milo

Milo liked working the night shifts. Late night shifts meant that Milo didn’t have to set his alarm to get up early in the morning. The brunette haired boy didn’t have to deal with many customers, as most people did their shopping at a reasonable hour. Most the faces that Milo saw were the same people, which was nice - since he built a customer and employee relationship with them. Milo recognised Julian. That was for sure. He was a regular face. Milo glanced over towards Julian and smiled. “It’s no bother at all. I wouldn’t have offered  to take you if it bothered me.” Milo searched his pockets for his car keys. “Come on. We’ll get to know each other. It’s dark out as well. Walking the streets at this time isn’t exactly safe.” Milo pointed at his car. He pressed a button on his keys, unlocking the doors. “Get in, man. Doors are unlocked. One rule. No feet on my dashboard.” He chuckled, heading over to his car himself. 

Honestly, Julian knows that most people wouldn’t mind having insomnia. It meant staying up for hours and getting things done. The only problem for him is that he wishes that he could sleep for more than 20 minutes. Sometimes, he wants to be able to get a good night of sleep and not worry about any problems he has. Staying up often meant his thoughts gets the best of him. Maybe one day, he will be able to find the perfect solution for his problem. For now, he will stick with medication and going to a convenience store a few nights a week. “Alright, I guess you convinced me.” He told the young man with a small smile on his face, walking toward his car. Julian won’t lie he is a little excited to be able to hang out with Milo. Most of his friends moved away or they are too busy sleeping to hang out on most nights. Plus, Milo was at least a friendly face that he often enjoyed talking to whenever he came to the convenience store. “No feet on the dashboard. Got it.” He nodded before adding, “This is a nice ride. What year is it?” One day, Julian will have enough money saved up to buy his own car.

Stay the Night | Carmen & Rian

Rian woke up in a good mood. It was probably the lie in which made him feel better. He didn’t get many of them. It felt nice to be there in the moment, than feel drowned in tiredness. “You don’t need to repay me, Carmen. You don’t owe me anything.” He answered. Rian didn’t want Carmen thinking she owed him anything. Rian was a nice guy most the time, he cared deeply about people, and he simply wanted to put Carmen on the right path again, or try. That’s the most he could do.  Rian walked around the kitchen, helping himself to two slices of bacon. He put them on his plate, turning around to grab a knife and folk for himself. He dug into the bacon and raised his eyebrow. “You’re a good cook, Carmen. Thank you for making these.” Rian continued to chew the bacon, swallowing afterwards. He sat at the stool in the kitchen, wanting to sit while he ate. “You know you don’t have to be quiet if I’m in bed. If you want to put the morning radio on to have a dance too, go ahead. I’ve told you before,  Mi casa es su casa..that’s the saying right? Do what you want. You don’t have to worry about me, doll.” Rian looked at Carmen, offering her a sweet smile. “You don’t mind small pet names every now and then, do you? They tend to slip out my lips without me really thinking about it.” He chuckled. “I’ll try and stop it if it makes you uncomfortable though. I don’t want to make you feel awkward.”

Carmen hoped that her good mood would last forever. But she knew once she went back to work tomorrow, her good mood would be over. The thought of work made her a bit anxious especially due to seeing her boss. Yet, he wasn’t just her boss, he often feeds into her addiction. She wasn’t sure she was strong enough to turn down any of his offers involving drugs. Maybe, it was best if she calmed down and tried not to worry about such things. Plus, she was in good company that honestly made her smile more than she ever has before. She grabs her plate, putting a couple slices of bacon and eggs on it. “I know Rian. I just wanted to do something nice. Plus, it’s nice to cook for someone other than myself.” She shrugged her shoulders, grabbing some utensils before sitting down next to him. “Thank you. I try my best.” She muttered, having a difficult time not blushing at his compliment. She took a small bite of her pancakes after pouring syrup on them. “Alright. Next time, I will keep that in mind. If I had to say so, my playlist does have a couple of good hits on it. So, I guess you should be prepared now.” She looks over at him, shaking her head. “Of course, I don’t mind at all. I mean..I’m kind of use to them.” After a moment, she adds, smiling at him, “I think pet names sound much better coming from you though.” Sitting next to him felt so unreal because of how nice he is. And let’s not forget gorgeous, but she knows better than to think that about him. They are just friends and he is, of course, helping her out. She continues eating as she asks, “What are your plans for today?”

Meeting the Parents | Derek & Sadie

Sadie didn’t know what to expect out of Derek’s parents. All she knew was that they made a beautiful son who had attractive attributes in many different ways from looks to his personality. If that was anything to go by, she expected his parents to be somewhat like him. The brunette haired girl looked up at Derek once he mentioned telling the truth after calling her beautiful. The girl scoffed, rolling her eyes playfully. “You’re bending the truth, but I’ll accept the compliment nevertheless. Thank you baby.” Sadie took a few deep breathes as the two of them approached the front door to his parents house, not knowing what to expect. Sadie smiled as the front door opened, seeing a pretty women who definitely shared some of Derek’s features. Sadie kept quiet as Diana embraced her son, not wanting to disrupt anything. “Hey. How are you?” Sadie asked once she was brought into the conversation, she looked up at Derek after the words escaped her mouth, going shy a little. The girl tucked some of her long hair behind her ear, getting awfully nervous now, because she didn’t know what to say. Is that how people introduced themselves to their partners parents? She didn’t know. Sadie’s grip on Derek’s hand got tighter. Hiding behind him a little. He was comfortable with this person. It was his mom. Sadie hadn’t ever met her in her life. Sadie let a small sigh of relief when Derek’s dad intervened, calling for Diana, before coming up behind her. “Hey son.” He acknowledged Derek, pushing the door open wider. “Come in you two. It’s freezing out there.” Sadie followed Derek in, keeping as close to him as she could. “Wow, this place looks great..” She admitted, taking in the rooms atmosphere and the splash of colours here and there on different things. The girl looked over at Derek grinning. “I can see baby pictures already. I’m definitely going to have a closer look at them later.” She grinned, pinching his cheek gently afterwards for a few seconds. 

Derek hoped if there were any gods in the sky that they would look out for Sadie tonight. He didn't want his parents to upset her at all. He doesn’t know what he would do if he had to see a hint of sadness on her face. Actually, it’s only his mother that he is worried about. He knew that her idea of his perfect girl is someone on the same social status as herself. Yet, Derek never cared about social status before and his mother knew that. But that wouldn’t stop her from making any snide comments. His father, on the other hand, would be nice as possible yet still follow after his mother. His mother’s rules are the only thing his father follows. He let out a deep breathe, grateful for his father’s presence. “Hey, dad.” He told him with a grin, squeezing Sadies hand as they step inside the house. “Wait until you see the whole house. I can give you a tour after dinner?” He mentioned as he looks at her with a small smile. He rolled his eyes slightly, chuckling to himself, as he rubs her hand gently. “I thought I told you to burn all these pictures, mom.” “Oh hush, why don’t you two get comfortable in the living room and we will chat for a bit before dinner.” His mother motioned for them to walk into the living room, as she turns toward the kitchen. He places his hand on Sadie back, leading her toward the living room but, he hears his mother states, “I’m pouring myself a drink. Did you want one, honey? How about you, Sadie? Are you old enough to have a glass?” Oh great, and the night just started, he thought to himself.

Meeting the Parents | Derek & Sadie

Excitement and nervousness didn’t mix well together. Sadie couldn’t remember meeting a boys parents before. Derek’s could have been the first. The girl was glad to get out of her own house. Although her hands were getting clammy, she was happy nevertheless. Sadie had her hair down, wearing a pink zip up jacket and a few chokers around her neck. Casual. That’s how she looked.  Sadie didn’t want to go overboard and pretend she was something she wasn’t. A small smile spread across her lips at Derek’s sweet words.  “Aw, Derek. That’s so sweet of you to say.” Sadie didn’t expect compliments from the dark haired boy and found it adorable when he was kind. Sadie didn’t experience moments like this a lot, so it was special. Sadie got out the car and smiled at Derek for opening it up for her. The girl took his hand into her own and nodded. “I’m sure that won’t happen. If they made you, I’m thinking they’re good people.” She admitted with a gentle smile, closing the car door behind herself. “Come on handsome. Let’s just go in and see what tonight brings.” Sadie intertwined their fingers together, leading him down the driveway. “You knock. It’ll be a bit awkward if I’m the first thing they see when they open the door.” She chuckled. “You seem more nervous than me.”

Derek silently prayed that tonight would be a good night without any problems. But knowing his parents, that wouldn’t be the case. He glances over at her with a smile. “Well, I’m only telling the truth.” To be honest, he was quite glad that Sadie didn’t overdress because her sparkling personality should be enough for his parents. He sighs softly, looking up at his house before adding, “If it does, just know that I’m here.” Despite being nervous, he couldn't help but smile at her compliment. He believes that was the first compliment that he wished could be true. “Of course, beautiful.” He told her squeezing her hand gently as they walk toward his house. He chuckles softly at her comment as he adds, “Let’s just say that sometimes, we don’t agree on many things.” He said referring to his parents, as he brings his hand up to knock on the door. Moments later, his mother, Diana opens the door. “Hey, mom.” He said softly before she quickly pulls him into a hug. “I thought you would never arrive!” She told him before looking at Sadie with a smile, “And who might this be?” He could already tell how fake that smile was but gives her a smile in return. “Mom, this is Sadie, my girlfriend. Sadie, meet my mother.” He gestures between the both of them, already regretting this dinner.

The last thing Milo expected at this time of night was someone to run to the convenience store who seemed like they were in a rush.  He turned around and jumped at the heavy breathing from the person who was around him, only to clear his thoughts when he noticed it was a customer that he seen pretty regularly. “What was you after? I can unlock the door, but I’m not setting the cash register up again. That takes half an hour to turn on and load itself up properly.” The brunette haired boy put the keys in his pocket after locking up. He looked at the customer who he saw most nights and raised his eyebrow. “I’ll take you to another store if you want? I have a car and other stores should be open. Do you want to do that instead?” He asked. “Let’s go on a adventure.” He stated teasingly. 

Julian leaned against the convenience store, still catching his breath. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. Then again, I didn’t expect to be running for a marathon.” He told him shaking his head at his little joke. He was pretty sure that Milo was the only person that worked nights at the convenience store. So hopefully he didn’t find him weird for wanting to get a few things from the store. He figured he had a few strange regulars anyways. “I honestly I just wanted some snacks. But I think I can live for one night without them. Thanks for the offer.” He said as he leans off the wall, about to walk away. He stopped walking and turns around, raising an eyebrow.” You would really go out of your way to do that? I mean, I don’t want to be a bother at all.” He explained as he adds, “Plus we don’t really know each other..even though an adventure sounds fun.” He muttered complementing on whether to take up his offer or not.

  Rian felt good that he was actually doing something nice for someone. Usually, he didn’t get involved in other people’s business, but this time, he couldn’t say no.  He could see how much stress Carmen was under at work and he didn’t like seeing her in that situation - therefore was letting her stay with him at the moment. Free of charge. He walked into the kitchen, planning to make himself  breakfast. Noticing Carmen, who beat him to it. “You didn’t. I was lying in bed, messing around on my phone. I didn’t even know you was in here until I came in.” Rian walked towards the counter and sat at one of the stools as he watched Carmen bake pancakes for the two of them. “Pancakes are great and not even having to make them for myself? Well that’s even better.” Rian tapped his fingers against the counter under his hand and looked at the dark haired girl. “Have you been up long?” He asked, while he rubbed his eyes. Rian had got up about seven, but had been working from his phone, sending documents to people while keeping contact with friends through the text messaging system. “Didn’t hear you moving about, that’s all.”

Carmen didn’t realize the last time she was ever in good spirits. She was afraid of how long it would even last. It was best to not think about that. To be honest, she felt grateful for being able to meet someone that wanted to help her. Others, would listen to her problems instead of offering suggestions. Guess that was one reason she didn’t have too many friends in her corner. She flipped one of the pancakes with a spatula before speaking. “Good. Because I wanted to do something nice to repay you.” She laughed softly at his comment, reaching for the plates in the cabinet. She sets them down on the corner as she answered his question. “About an hour or so.” She shrugs her shoulders, adding a she turns her attention to him. “Well, I was being very quiet so I wouldn’t have woken you up.I also made eggs and bacon as well if you want any.” She points over to the skillets with eggs and bacon in it, as she puts a few pancakes on plates for herself and him.

Meeting the Parents | Derek & Sadie

Nervous. If someone had to sum Derek up in one word, it would be nervous. Yet some people would never describe him to ever be nervous. Especially since he is usually doing poetry in front of an audience. But the fact that Sadie was meeting his parents made him a bit nervous. He wish he could've cancel the whole thing but his parents wouldn’t take no for a answer. Plus he knew Sadie was dying to meet his parents. He won’t deny that he enjoyed hearing how excited she was about the meeting. He knew however that his parents wouldn’t feel the same. Not because of Sadie but due to the fact that they never liked his girlfriends before. During the car ride, he was quiet which is a unusual behavior for the young man. He couldn’t help but dread this meeting though. As he pulls up to the house, he looks over at Sadie with a small smile. “Before we head inside, I must say you look beautiful tonight. Like always.” He compliment her with a smile before getting out the car. He walks over to the other side and opens the car door for Sadie. “If my parents do anything to upset you, just squeeze my hand and we will go.”

Road Trip? | Julian & Milo

Julian never knew why he couldn’t stay sleep for more than hour. A hour of sleep is never enough to get through for one day. To make matters worst, his parents thought this medication would help. Unfortunately, it hasn’t and he hasn’t had the heart to tell them the truth. Especially after everything they done to try to help him with his parents. He always felt like his little problem was a burden to his parents but never wanted to mention it to his parents. That was one of the few reasons why he stayed out late and went to the local convenience shop. Plus it was always fun to browse the shop and stock up on needed supplies. Of course, that didn’t stop his parents from chewing him out sometimes. But only when he didn’t let them know he would be out late. Now, Julian ran toward the convenience store that was a few blocks from his home. He frowned slightly at seeing Milo closing up. “Here I was hoping that I wouldn’t waste my time exercising to get here.” He said jokingly before adding, “I didn’t even realize how late it was until 10 minutes ago.” He shook his head at himself as he tried catching his breath.

Stay the Night | Carmen & Rian

Carmen woke up feeling like she could walk on air now. This wasn’t the first time that she woke up feeling that way. She didn’t know if it was because of finally getting a good night sleep or due to the comfy bed. Either way, she ended up feeling good about herself. And honestly, she was hoping that wouldn’t be the last. She threw the covers off of her before heading outside the room. She didn’t hear any noise so she knew Rian wasn’t up yet. Speaking of Rian, she figured a good way to repay him would be by cooking breakfast. After all, she didn’t know many people that would let someone stay at their place without wanting anything in return. She headed straight for the fridge and starts pulling out ingredient. Moments later, she was humming to herself while cooking pancakes. She looks up as she hears footsteps and notice Rian. “I hope I didn’t wake you.” She said to him with a small smile before continuing, “And I hope you like pancakes because I don’t think I can eat all of these by myself.”

Rian wouldn’t consider himself as the most outgoing person in his group of friends. Although he was confident and cocky. He also knew when things were getting taken a little too far out of hands. The dirty blonde haired boy, brushed his hand through his hair sorting it into his place as he tried to take in the view. He hadn’t been to a place like it. It wasn’t exactly how strip clubs were shown in the movies but there was a lot of dancing women. Rian didn’t know if there were any male strippers, but i he was being completely honest he didn’t want to find out. He was all for men working at strip clubs and earning money but what he meant was that if he got a dance, he didn’t want it off a guy whoever could he could have been. Rians eyes were on a brunette haired girl for a while watching the way her hips moved and how she swirled her hips around as a male a few years older than himself was intensely watching her. The thing Rian didn’t get was the eye contact. He didn’t think if he was dancing like that; that he could hold firm eye contact with the ‘customer’. Rian couldn’t even hold eye contact with girls he found attractive because he ended up going shy because he always thought he was staring a little too much. It took a second to see a small bag of something white and to take his attention away from that particular dancer and onto the darker haired girl and an old man. What was that? From how far he was sitting..he couldn’t tell and that sucked. He quickly looked away as he saw what he assumed was the dancer walked over.  The dirty blonde haired male sipped on his beer as he listened to the dark haired girl order her own drink.  He got down to half the glass when she started talking directly to him. “Is it that obvious?” he asked as a small laugh escaped his lips. “It is my first time at a strip club though. I wasn’t planning on coming but its for my brothers stag so I couldn’t really turn the opportunity down..you know?” He muttered before shaking his head from side to side. He was going on and on about a subject that she probably didn’t care about. “I’m sorry you probably don’t care about all this crap that I’m talking about.” He stated as he sipped his drink again before placing it down on the table. “I wasn’t going to ask. I’m assuming you all work hard so there is no harm having a little drink.” He muttered before raising his hands defensively. If she wanted to drink, he wasn’t going to question her about it. “Are you a dancer?” he asked as he quickly glanced at her attire. “I’m just assuming please don’t take offense if you aren’t.” Rian took the last huge gulp before ordering another one it and getting a pile of money out. “Another beer and whatever this lady wants.” He muttered, pushing some money forward before shoving the rest back into his pocket. Rian looked around noticing some of his friends watching some pretty young girl dance with the biggest smirks across their lips and his brother already heading towards a private room with a red head. “What goes on in those private rooms?” he asked generally curious.

Carmen never pictured herself being a stripper. She always figured she would go off to college and do something with her life. Of course the money was good and if she kept saving, she couldve went to college years ago. But once she met a man that introduced her to drugs, it changed her perspective on what was important to her. Soon, it was only the drugs that kept her alive til this day. She promised that one day she would quit drugs, but it’s been a year since she made the promise. And she had no motivation to change that about her. Just like she has no motivation to do something else with her life. She took another sip of her drink as she looks back over at the dirty blonde man. Now, for a second she wish more men that looked like him came to a strip club. Most times, they got old men, fathers, cheaters and occasionally a few young men that wanted to blow off steam. “Sorry but it is. And mostly because you are over here instead of being over their were you could get a better view.” She said as she pointed over her shoulder to stage. She smiled to herself as she listen to him as she stirred her straw around in her drink. “Well, guess there’s a first time for everything right?” She shook her head as she glances over at him. “No it’s fine. I actually don’t mind hearing about it.” She told him as she runs her fingers through her hair. “Work hard? Hmm…guess you could say that.” She said softly as she took another gulp from her drink as she finish it. If she couldnt have her drugs, a drink or two would help ease how she was feeling at the moment. “Is it that obvious?” She said with a smirk as she adds. “But yes, I am a dancer.” She raised a eyebrow with a small grin at seeing him pull out a pile of money and buying her a drink. “Thank you darling and you can call me, Angel.” She said before turning to the bartender. “Another vodka, Johnny.” She leaned against the bar counter as she notice a friend of hers heading towards a private room. “Do you want to find out?” She turns toward him with a smirk before giving it a second as she explains. “Anything that your heart desires. Lapdance, strip tease, no clothes at all and… few dancers here will even give you more for more cash that is.” She told him as she shrugged her shoulders leaning against the counter.

For some reason, Milo preferred doing that late night shifts compared to any other. It felt more adventurous and actually a little wild. Wild in the fact that he was the one closing the shop up while he worked alone. There wasn’t that many customers during the night time. There was the occasional few, but there wasn’t heaps and he actually liked that. His known phrase was “thank you, have a good night..” because nearly every night he worked here, he was polite. He was tired. Any young or old person would be absolutely knackered and he was, but he didn’t let that get in the way of anything. He did his work and left five minutes later than he should, because he always brought himself some food to snack on–on the journey home. After serving two customers, he smiled noticing a familiar face. He wasn’t friends with this person, but he was pretty damn sure that this boy had come in the other nights prior to tonight. Milo arched his brow when he heard the boys comment before scoffing. “Yeah…this looks like the right ingredients to help you nod off.” He teased as he scanned the items and placed them in a small plastic bag with the companies logo on. Milo pressed the cashier a few times, sparking up a small conversation. “You came in yesterday..right?” He asked. There was only two of them in the store and if this boy left, he would be alone again. He knew that the young man could have been in a rush, but if he was, Milo would just apologize. “I’m sure it was you..might be mixing you up with someone else..” He muttered before shrugging his shoulders. “That’ll be ten dollars please..” He muttered, never knowing why food became so expensive these days.  “Foods going up in price, isn’t it?”

Julian knew that he could sleep but the hard part was trying to fall asleep. But the hardest part out of it all was staying asleep. He tried everything from prescription drugs to remedies but none of it help the young man. Ever since he was a boy; he had a hard time when it came to sleeping. Which meant he had a hard time when it came to school and keeping up with his friends. And that was the one thing he hated about having insomnia. The young man only had a few friends that didn’t mind that he barely sleep and was up at all hours. It meant more time to have fun and go on p of adventours. But most of the friends he made, were off starting their careers or families or moved away. But now, it was mostly just him trying to get by with a issue he hasn’t solved yet. Julian placed his wallet back in his pocket as he looks at him. He chucked under his breath as he shook his head. “It didn’t work the last time, but guess third time’s the charm right?” He said softly as he glances around realizing that they were the only two in the store at the moment. “No, I was here yesterday, stocking up on food again.” He admitted even though he didnt eat everything he gotten yesterday. But it wasnt much for the young man to do at this time of night except head to the nearest store.Julian handed him the cash after hearing the amount before nodding his head with a small grin. “Seems to always go up in price.” He told him before adding, “I was wondering, do you always work the nightshift alone? If you don’t mind me asking.

The brunette hadn’t heard anything so passionate and real as this poem that the young male read out loud. Sadie was sure that the whole little captivated audience had been moved into silence because she heard no sound what so ever. If there was a pin that was dropped, she was sure that it could have been heard because of how quiet everybody was. Sadie-hadn’t had the guts to go on the small stage and read out any of her own stuff. That’s why she can here–to learn about the sorts of things she can write about and how she could make them seem inspirational and amazing. The audience clapped their hands and an almighty roar was heard to congratulate the male on his piece. As soon as a small break was given to everyone, Sadie lept from her seat and moved quickly towards the boy who just so happened to finish his poem. Was Sadie a little over enthusiastic? All it was, was a poem and yet she was amazed that somebody that age could write something so moving and magnificent. As soon as she reached the young man, she tapped his shoulder to get his attention. Apologizing to whoever he was talking too before her. “I just came to say that – that was amazing and I was so moved and how the heck do you write something that good?” she asked. Her words probably sounding like a rushed messed because she was slightly embarrassed. Sadie added a cute giggle when she finished so she didn’t seem weird. Although her giggle was fake–it seemed real enough. “Yeah so…I wanted to congratulate you on that piece and..am I freaking you you out?” she asked. Not knowing if he usually had people rushing up to him at poetry slams. Back in her old home town, people got up and spoke all the time, but maybe it was different here? “I’m Sadie by the way..first time here thats why I’m a little..awkward.”

This wasn’t the first time that Derek ever read a poem at a poetry slam. The first time he ever decided to read his poetry was when he was 19 years old. He was a nervous wreck and a freshman in college at the time. But he remembered the clapping and cheering from the audience. And ever since; he enjoyed knowing that others enjoyed his poetry. Even if they only got to hear it for a few minutes. And he knew it wouldn’t be any different tonight. As soon as derek spoke the last words in his poem, it was only silent for a few moments before the cheering begin. He smiled and waved before heading off stage toward a fellow friend of is. “Thanks for coming, Hunter.” He said as his friend gave him a hug. The young man was about to say something else before he felt someone tap on his shoulder. He turned around toward the young girl as his friend patted him on the back before heading off to the drinks. He raised a eyebrow slightly with a small grin as he listen to her words. “Thank you, I really appreciate it.” He told her as he shook his head at her with a small chuckle. “No, you are not freaking me out. I’m use to it.” He said softly as he adds. “And to answer your question, I write whatever comes to my mind or heart. The breeze was suddenly getting to Rian Smith, despite the leather jacket he was wearing. He wished he wore something more warmer, but it was a little too late for that now. It wasn’t as if Rian wanted to go on this little outing. His brother and all there friends had wanted to go though, which meant it would make Rian looked back if he didn’t go. Especially because he was doing this for his brother who was getting married soon. A little too soon actually. The dirty blonde haired male was never really into social situations where he could possibly make someone else feel awkward but he would have to put up with it for one night, so he didn’t get all the black lash from his brother and their friends. They had already arrived and there was nothing he could do or say to make an excuse up. The dirty blonde haired male walked into the building with his brother and his group of friends. His eyes scanning the place. It wasn’t the best of places, but it wasn’t the worst either. The lights spinning around in the room ahead was giving Rian a headache and he hoped that wasn’t going to happen all night. Rian placed his money onto the desk, so he could enter the room and he followed the young lady who went up to the body guard, letting them all in since they could all afford it. Not wanting to be the first, Rian hung back and let most of his friends go in before he followed. His eyes darted around the room as he saw some very intimate dances go on. His best friend bumped into his shoulder as he noticed Rian staring. “Go on..” He muttered pushing Rian towards a girl. The dirty blonde haired gave daggers at his mate as he wanted to inspect things first. His eyes caught on an older male talking to what he assumed was a dancer and as he watched his brother and their friends drift away. He headed straight for the bar, trying to see if he could overhear anything. “A drink, please. Preferably beer.”

Carmen sighed to herself as she strolls out of one of the private rooms. All she could think about was taking a long hot shower after having to entertain a old man. She would have cringe at the thought of his wrinkly hands over her. But it was all part of her job. One of the less unfortunate parts of being a stripper. She ran her hands over her face as she headed toward the bathroom. She steps inside not seeing any of the other ladies inside. She turns on the faucet as she place her hands under it. She bends down splashing her face with some water before reaching out for a paper towel as she dries her face. “Good thing someone invented waterproof mascara.” She muttered under her breathe as she throws away the paper towel heading out of the bathroom. She glanced around noticing a few customers inside the joint before bumping into her boss, Keith. “Sorry boss.” She told him as she starts to walk pass him until he grabs her arm. “I hope you don’t think you are going home at this hour.” Carmen turned back around to face him as she tilt her head to the side. “My shift was over an hour ago, Keith.” She muttered as she pulled her arm away from him. “Well, you haven’t had your fix today.” He whisper to her with a grin as he opened his hand revealing a small bag of coke. She glanced down at it then back at him, as soon as he eyes landed on the bag, her hand began to shake. “One more hour Keith.” She glared at him reaching for the bag but he pulls his hand away. “First, work one more hour then you get this. But you have to work one more hour after okay?” She glared at him as many thoughts ran through her head. “Fine.” She said through gritted teeth as she places her mask back on, walking away toward the bar. She didn’t pay attention to the dirty blonde man next to her as she leaned on the counter. “Straight vodka, Johnny.” She told the bartender with a small smile. She turned away watching a few of her coworkers dancing before turning her attention to the dirty blond man. She tilted her head with a smirk. “First time at a strip club?” She ask as she takes her glass off the counter taking a huge gulp. “And before you ask, we can drink on the job but only throughout our shift.”

Julian glanced around the store, looking for items on his list. He chewed on his bottom as he notice the time on his watch, 2:45 am. This wasnt his first time taking a trip to the convenience store so early in the morning. The young man always had a hard time falling asleep, since he was a young boy to be exact. He hardly need sleep at all, that he could find himself doing anything at night or in the morning. Yet here he was again, buying things off his list. And none of them were healthy snacks at all. He placed all the items in his small basket before heading toward the checkout line. He looked around only noticing a few people in the store; a pregnant woman, a old man and teenage boy. He figured most of them couldn’t sleep either or needed something to help them sleep. Except Julian never can find anything that would help him get a wink of sleep. And he has gotten use to the feeling of not being able to sleep. Once it was his turn in line, he placed his items down before giving the cashier a small smile. “As you can see, I have everything that can help someone get a good night sleep.” He said in a joking tone indicating that none of his items would be helpful in being able to fall asleep. He looks at the cashier name tag, seeing Milo on the name tag before looking back at him. Julian wasn’t known to ever be in the joking mood but sometimes having no sleep and seeing familiar faces can change his mood. Even though, he only seen Milo a couple of times since he usually works the late night shifts. Julian got his wallet out of his back pocket, pulling out some cash before Milo begins ringing up his items.
