New ish. "the show" starts in a bit.
Flip of a flip. El Michels Affiar redid the classic Wu tang record and I decided to give their rendition some lyrical accompaniment. Happy 2013 btw. Plenty of things in store for Show Kings Entertainment.
"You wait, you can be weight in the grave while we wave all the way from the moon."
"Do it like this" is a departure from my usual sound sonically, but I feel like its the definition of motivational music. I deal with fear, procastination, hate and the desire for more as much as anyone, maybe even more since I make music I suppose. Its all in here in this high octane beat, I hope you can get into it.
Do it like this can be downloaded for free at soundcloud.com/cjisinfinite
CJ Infinite will be performing in Sinchon, Seoul at Bar fly on November 30th with GMO, Saul Goode, Lookas Roar and Megook Movement.
Behind the Overdose
Jack hit me a couple of months ago on a Sunday about this record. I'm always open to working with other emcees, but I definetly wanted to work with Jack. That being said, I underestimated him in a major way.
The days before the studio session went by, I'd look at the track, nod my head a lot and say "meh i'll come up with something." I thought Zilla was nice, but I didn't think he'd out do me on this track.
So I limp to the studio Saturday morning (bad knees for you) and speak with my engineer and good friend Geoff Nostrant while Jack makes his way. He walks in and we stop and say "Who's going first?"
I put a couple of bars in the air, and the bars are recognized, but then this jerk Jack Zilla starts rapping "OD'd on dope like I was a drug addict, flows are automatic, no clutch i'm Kobe Bryant.."
What? Is this happening to me? these are the thoughts going through my head. You ever hear Jay-Z's renegade? (relax before you think im Ron Browzing the window sill) It's not like Jay's verses were weak, they were great. But then Em came and took a shit on his chest.
So thank you Jack Zilla for poo poo ing on the track sir, as they say steel sharpens steel.
Overdose is available for free download at Soundclound.com/cjisinfinite and soundcloud.com/jackzilla
Electoral College (Questions)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_College_(United_States)
I was excited about doing my part and voting a couple of weeks ago, but I forgot about the good old Electoral College. If you forgot what the EC is (don't even trip I bet 7 out of 10 people couldn't correctly articulate it either) then read the wiki link.
What would it take to limit the power of the Electoral College, or get rid of it all together? Is the general public ready for that kind of thing? Does the fact that American citizens don't ACTUALLY chose the president rationalize not voting? Please let me know your thoughts.
Hello.
