Last of my notebooks: Tres horny boys!
Link notebook! :D Love his botw design…
BOOGSCHUTTER
(Storytime: My mom saw this notebook and thought it was a sagittarius (dutch: boogschutter) illustration from the zodiac and wanted me to make one for her as well since that is her sign... Aw.
Yurio notebook design I did!
Unique John notebook design I did for Abunai! Who says 2017 is too late for homestuck and galaxy designs (asdklfjl leave me be, there were even some hs cosplayers which was awesome).
Haseo notebook I made for Abunaicon! And also to celebrate .hack//G.U. Last Recode coming out soon, hence the outfit. Except I drew him with his scythe because, uh… reasons (it looks cooler alright).
Your art just made me have strong feelings and emotions for homestuck, first time in roughly 2 years. Good ones. Sad ones. Thank you.
That’s such a cool thing to hear asdfkjl thank you for letting me know.
My contribution to the Summer Stronk art exchange! We basically did a secret santa with the Gouden Stronk, but with art and not during the winter holidays. I drew @kurairo‘s OCs which was such a blast! Overall I had an amazing time, love you all.
Some days she still hears them

My baby cup plants drawn from real life. Again, didn’t finish in time before lightning changed, how do painters do this? Should probably work form a photo next time if I really want to practice fully rendering something.
Some notes to myself I made while doing value studies.
Top: The difference between hard and soft light. Hard light is when you have a very focal, strong light source, such as a spotlight or (less extreme) direct sunlight. Changes from light to dark tend to be very sudden. It really catches your attention because of this heavy cotrast and you see it for instance in those dramatic lightning portraits. Soft light is a lot more subtle. You encounter it outside on cloudy days or from indirect (window) sunlight. Changes from light to dark are smooth, with many midtones. Although not as attention-catching this allows for much more detail.
Bottom: Some sloppy practical application of the bove principles. A focally lighted object on dark bg looks better with more contrast (a wider range of values) than a diffusely lighted object on a lighter bg. The type of light source decides the range of contrrast while the properties of the object itself (object luminnce) decides where in the value spectrum that range begins.
Finally some simple full-body color refs for my OCs Prisha (top) & Salena (bottom).
Still a lot I need to figure out about them both design- and personality-wise. It’s hard to know for sure when you have the final design, okay? Still unsure ‘bout some colors etc and I still want to add some patterns to especially Salena’s clothes but didn’t get around to it yet. So things will probably change again but I have accepted that as inevitable at this point.
(Under the readmore you can find some personality and personal history facts about them!)

Happy BIRTH(day) to my friend @challengeourfate!
Also included some of the extra sketches I did in preparation and in the train when I was still feeling the transistor vibes aah (forgot to show them mm).
Some hs doodles I did somewhere last month
Decided to work out another one of the many fanart sketches I have lying around bc there’s nothing like 20 year late fanart.
Casually trying to find a sketching style that immediately incorporates values. Pros: Quick, more value practice, easier to turn into a painting without losing the ‘character’ of the sketch. Cons: I keep doing it on one layer with low transparency brushes, fixing mistakes is hell.

Ok so I was like “I should probably try doing value studies from real life not just photos!” so i grabbed a spoon for some reason. And then I didn’t finish it. And then the lightning in my room changed.
A lesson might have been learned there but probably not.
Late birthday present for @acureizu! Her OC Greer. Again, happy birthday you tater! :)
