bakusaii:
It was difficult to say whether Sesshomaru had ‘prepared’ himself for this day. Ever since the ones in power claimed that the future of mankind rested on them, he had remained mostly impassive for the following days. In truth, he cared little for humanity’s fate. However, his feelings were somewhat identical to those of his Servant. He had gone thing long shouldering the burden of being ‘weaker’ compared to these Servant. A constant reminder that frustrated the demon to no end.
If there was one thing this battle would be good for, it would be as an outlet for his frustrations. He was uncertain if he could have withheld his bloodlust any longer without this opportunity.
“.. Kill whatever you’d like.“
That was his only response to the woman he’d been destined to stand beside in this world. He bore his claws as he proceeded towards the site of the conflict. Thoughts of death being the furthest thing from his mind. After all, only the weak perish.
Transference to the location is swift and no more disorienting than her own means of traveling through Time. Her gaze falls, impassive, upon the battleground-- and her memory superimposes horns, blood in a rainbow of shades, and it is... familiar. Enough so that it makes her stomach turn. Yet this is another task she has been assigned to complete, unlike those she is usually given only in that it demands she set a course to save rather than destroy. There is no less death involved in this, however-- she cannot save without setting someone else to the blade. How alike things are, when you take the time to think about them. “As you wish, Master.” Then she is gone from his side, and above the battlefield, a maelstrom.
“You who fight for an entity which serves not you but only itself...” Her words are an echo, carried on the wind she kicks up, her wands appearing in her hands at the pinch and pull of her fingers. Arms rise, conducting not wind, but the flow of Time, a glowing confluence of sparking energy. Beneath her, the battlefield stops, bodies seizing as her power overwhelms them. Then all at once they seem to begin to collapse in upon themselves, flesh first drying then decomposing, weapons and armor rusting, until nothing remains but ash and dust. “I lay thee all to rest.”
