I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY DID THIS FORD U MUTHAFUKIN MONSTER
TEDDY.
‘ ms caldwell, ’ he smiles, by way of greeting. it’s always nice to see a familiar face, especially after all the time it is that teddy’s spent away from sweetwater. he gives a polite tip of the hat as he walks those last couple of steps up to her, stops in that exact same spot he always does. ‘ that i am. ’
he usually heads for the mariposa at this point, at least when she isn’t here to intercept him, which is where he usually spots dolores coming out of the general store. but since neither of those things have happened, here he is. all by his lonesome. ( should be a newcomer will come snatch him up soon enough, have him take them on some kind of adventure or what have you. here’s hoping they don’t shoot him out of boredom like the last. )
he watches her for a moment, with one thumb tucked into his belt, before he speaks. ‘ how’ve things been treating you? ’
SHE DOES HER BEST TO REMEMBER HOW LONG HE’S BEEN AWAY. She can’t seem to recall the exact measure, but knows it’s been some time. A thought occurs to her: perhaps she’s interrupting him. Perhaps he’d like his solitude, as do we all, sometimes. But he’s smiling, & so perhaps is content for the moment, in seeing a familiar face.
Clara spots the little, dilapidated school from over Teddy’s shoulder, frowning a little as its continued disrepair & the sunlight. Seemed like there was fewer good men in this town than she thought, for who’d leave a place of prayer & learning in such disarray?
“ Well -- school’s out fer the moment... Ah’m about as restless as the kids, but -- happy to be spendin’ some more time with m’sister. & you? Y’must be happy t’be back home. ”
LADY BANDIT.
“ No, actually. You can just stand there and look pretty without any issue. Do that, and I’ll try to make sure my friends here just leave with your things.” Whitney said as she walked forward. Her dark eyes met Bronson as her hand rested on the shoulder of the other. Whitney, although a bandit, did not approve of men forcing themselves on their victims. In fact, she had shot a good number of men who did that in her presence. She had shot and killed them. It wasn’t unheard of. “Do we have an agreement, ma’am?”
CLARA KEPT HER HEAD HIGH & HER HAND ON HER PET. In the face of danger, he was first to leap, but she’d soon rather part with her small pocket of coin than her beloved dog. Willing him to stay calm, Clara nodded; face stern but compliant none the less.
“ & how do Ah know you’ll keep yer word? Can’t say Ah ever met an honest thief. ”
Hoping the other would be content with a handful of coin, Clara glanced over at her men, seemingly eager for the two to finish their conversation. No matter what the other woman said, these men could easily overpower the both of them, though she prayed to God they would keep their place.
i’d love to get clara going so hit this for a starter :)
THE NAME TEDDY FLOOD’S AS WELL KNOWN AROUND THESE PARTS AS MUCH AS HECTOR ESCATON OR WYATT. Everybody knows or knows of Teddy Flood, be it for the right reason or the wrong reason, you couldn’t be sure. People say a lot of bad things about Teddy, but from what Clara’s come to see & know, he seems a sweet, genuine man. A rare thing in this town.
It’s something of a rarity to find him unaccompanied. He’s very popular with the Newcomers -- on her morning walks she often spots him with a band of merry men or with his sweetheart, Dolores. Harriet had been whisked away from her prematurely this morning, & with Bronson back at home she could use the company. Maybe he’d be keen for some, too.
“ Mornin’, Teddy -- all by yer lonesome this lovely day? ”

CLARA’S NOT USUALLY ONE TO WANDER INTO THE MARIPOSA. She’s a simple woman with simple pleasures; rarely -- if at all -- finding them in places like this. But her usual spot in the Tavern was taken up by Newcomers, & as everybody in Sweetwater knows; everybody is welcome in the saloon.
It’s hard to miss Ms Millay in her usual spot in the centre of the bar, though Clara tries to ignore her ever-piercing gaze as it follows her to the bar. She orders a pot of tea before her own eyes wander to the darker corners, hunting for a quiet place to read with minimal stains. Still, she can’t help the itching feeling of Maeve’s eyes on the back of her neck. She speaks without turning around, hoping the other woman will just tell her to fuck off rather than strike up a conversation.
“ ‘s there somethin’ on my face, Ms Millay? ”

BRONSON’S A MOST FAITH PET, BUT MOST THE TIME HE’S NOT THE NICEST. He’ll protect Clara & her sister with everything he’s got, but sometimes something will spook him for no reason. Apparently today, that something was a poor stranger minding his own business.
“ Bronson! Get back here! ”
Clara ran after him as he bolted toward the man in black, shouting for him to stop as he drew nearer, seemingly ready for an attack. Thankfully she caught up to him as the stranger went for the gun on his belt, yanking him back by the neck behind her.
“ Ah’m so sorry, Sir -- he don’t mean no harm, honest. He didn’t get you, did he? ”

MISS ABERNATHY WAS ALWAYS A PRETTY SIGHT. There was a lot of terrible people & terrible things in Sweetwater, but she was a ray of light through the dusty grit of the town & its inhabitants. Clara spotted her by her horse, loading some groceries into the saddlebags & noticed a loose can falling from a bag, rolling away through the dust.
Bronson wandered after it, Clara following behind the dog as he picked it up in his jaws & trotted over to the blonde. The teacher offered a smile upon approach; petting Bronson softly atop his head as she greeted Dolores.
“ Lovely mornin’, ain’t it, Miss? ”
@violentsorrows
SHE HAD THOUGHT ABOUT THIS DAY FOR FOUR YEARS. Thought about how the day may come when she might be able to avenge her husband’s death. Here stood her opportunity; six foot two & clad in black, with dusty boots & smoking gun. Hector Escaton. Not three feet in front of her.
Clara thought about what her husband might do ( what he HAD done ), & found strength enough to leave the safety of her quiet booth to take a bottle from the gambler’s table to beat the sonuva bitch over the head with.
“ You no good, dirty, rotten little SNAKE! ”
@mayhemist
CLARA HAD SOME PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH BANDITS. Not the good kind, of course. Could there ever be such a thing as a good interaction with them? Depending on how optimistic you were, maybe -- maybe leaving a tussle alive WAS a good interaction. She was hoping for something like that as she noticed the dirty woman staring; her faithful pet Bronson growling lowly on his haunches beside her.
“ Somethin’ Ah can help ya with, Miss...? ”
Ever the good samaritan, Clara was hoping the other woman would just leave upon being approached. But, who knows? People in this town were far from regular.

Her flesh may be dead but her spirit, whether on this earth or beneath, still exist.
be silent in that solitude which is not loneliness -- for then the spirits of the dead who stood in life before thee are again, in death, around thee -- and their will shall overshadow thee: be still. // by tash.
LOOP ROUTINE
Clara has a weekly loop with minor interruptions. Every second day she takes flowers to her husband’s grave with her Scotch Collie, Bronson. On her way back into town, Bronson will either attack or befriend a Newcomer, which will either way have Clara rushing after her dog, talking with the Guest. From there, one of two things will happen: the Guest will leave Clara or choose to stay with her.
Clara does not have an adventure loop. She is more of a companion, & so often entices the elderly or the lonely Guests, spending the majority of her time with them talking. While she mostly stays in Sweetwater or her small ranch, Clara has access to accompany a Guest should they chose to take her with them on an adventure or another story.
On her other days when she is not accompanied by her pet, Clara will either spend her day in town, running errands or dallying with her younger sister, Harriet.
NARRATIVE
Clara Caldwell is a school teacher in Sweetwater; widowed by the bandit Hector Escaton. During a heist, her husband Roger stood up to the bandits & was shot in the chest, dying in his wife’s arms. Clara often has ‘flashbacks’ of the day, creating mood shifts & bouts of feeling faint.
While the school is undergoing repairs from one of Hector’s raids, Clara spends most her days in leisure. She enjoys poetry & books & can often be found in the book store or the tavern, hidden away in a quiet corner reading.
Every fortnight she is present for one of Hector’s raids, & confronts him in the Saloon. She will either be hauled away by one of his lackeys or shot dead, depending upon a Guests interference.
UPDATE
Clara was one of the 200 hosts to receive the update, & was cleared after the interview process. She is yet to be triggered by the sentence uttered by Dolores, & so continues within her loop unaware of what goes on outside of Westworld.
