This part is way more focused on V1 and V2's narrative contrast, and where I really started leaning into the album that the comic is named after. The two-headed flower is meant to represent V1's parasitic co-dependency, and of course Hell loves this idea. It shows V2 a glimpse of their relation from a distance. Hell's favorite has shifted since it cannot directly influence V1 anymore, and the signs start showing.

I started concepting V2's predicament, as V1 won their first fight yet never returned for their rematch. V2 couldn't track V1, so speeds through many of the layers in a desperate search. The armies of heaven are already attempting to dismantle the raging machines, and through the effort of having Powers use V1 as a training dummy, are significantly more successful in leading the battle. Gabriel's focus doesn't seem to be on V2 for whatever reason, rather continuing the effort to get through to V1 somehow. 😏(Also it gets gay)

The initial idea for the comic started as Gabriel "taming" V1 after V1 nearly wins the first battle against him, but falters before they can best him. Gabriel announces to publicly execute the machine that slaughtered relentlessly, but hesitates when V1 expresses a will to live.

Taming is a term coined from the Little Prince, but I was inspired more so by Oneshot's interpretation which correlates to a robot being treated as a living being.
