It took only 1 month 8 days and 2 failed drafts to make this :,-)

I had this idea for a really long time. There was going to be a background. Important past tense. I want to get better at backgrounds and may try out some, at least for practice. The last thing I drew, I made a complex background, but then simplified it down to just the panels as to not distract from the people (which was the right choice).

I want to be well-rounded as an artist, and not be unable to depict what I intend by limitations.

But overall, things that would "need a background", for mood, context, dramatic effect, are all things I'd write instead of draw. So I haven't felt the need.

In a lot of ways, the whiteness IS the background. But I can't explain that in a drawing, only in writing. Which is why I'm first and foremost an author, not a drawer.
