[Text] Right seems like another lifetime ago of itself
Clara: Did you just make a joke, my love?
[Text] Sounds like a plan. [Text] I know at least one of my past lives was in Rome, but I do not think that there will be any problems.
Clara: I was rather fond of the legionnaire who threw me over his shoulder.
[Text] You are not wrong [Text] I went briefly once but would love to go for you
Clara: Shall we make the arrangement for spring break? Clara: Also should we take any precautions given one of your previous lives?
[Text]Anywhere we want. I'd say somewhere beautiful but nowhere is as beautiful as you. I'm leaving the shop now.
Clara: You are shameless, darling. Clara: When is the last time that you've been to Rome?
[Text] I understand my love. Perhaps we should have a trip for spring break.
Clara: Where were you thinking?
[text] So many of my friends have graduated. I'm feeling so terribly lonely. I don't know what to do.
[Text] Yes it has been a little more quiet. I'll be home soon and we can have a nice dinner. I'll even cook. Unless you would rather go out
[text] I'm happy to stay in. It's just so quiet lately. It's a little disconcerting. I don't like being home alone.

āMaybe but you will likely break before me.ā He teased knowing she was just as rightthey both certainly had a weakness for one another which in all honesty was one of the million things he loved about her. He never thought that he would let anyone in close to him and yet here he was with Clara. Even after all this time he loved being with her to be close to her and he was still learning more and more about her everyday.
"Are you certain of that?" Clara crossed her legs, causing her skirt to ride up showing the lace tops of her stockings and the thin strap that traveled upward. Her ruby lips curved upwards, expecting him to fall right into her trap. "I happen to be able to restrain myself when need be. Can you say the same?"

āI love our quiet home in the middle of the woods, but the sound of the water is rather relaxing.ā he smiled leaning in to kiss her as they kept swaying with one another. As she corrected him he looked up as if he was thinking. āHmm well you may have a point with that. You tied to the bed is a very enjoyable sight.ā he said leaning in to kiss her again just getting lost in the moment for once.
"I suppose it is rather comforting, although I do wonder what lay in the depth." The seas held more mystery than the stars above. She could see the lights gleaming in the sky, but even as clear as the water here was, there was no way to truly see what the sea held. Of course the administration kept them safe, but just beyond the protections laid a world of mystery. "Is that why you left me tied up for an hour or two while you worked?" She chuckled. It might have been less, but in her mind, it felt like an eternity.

Arthur went to find the rat in the woods and then returned as he held the rat coming back to her. It was still alive just asleep at the moment. "Is there anything you need for your ritual?"
Clara took the rat from Arthur. Under normal circumstances, she'd be loathed to touch it, but this needed to be done. Still the blonde regretted having to sacrifice the creature for her purpose. "No, I have the rest under control. Do you wish to be in or out of the circle?" Once she began, it would be impossible to change positions.

āA beautiful woman like yourself? Nah, Iād get all shy and bashful,ā Luc lied, doing their best to smile coyly. For a moment, the shifter tried thinking of anything that might force a blush to help their case, but alas, the bear was shameless. āIf this friend is half as lovely as you are, Iād love to meet them and their bear sometime.ā A sentiment that Luc found they actually meant, their bear responding in kind with a huff of excitement that only the shifter could hear. Having evolved considerably, bears were very intelligent and social creatures, and it seemed like theirās in particular craved companionship from its own kind. Seemingly caught red-handed by the witch, Luc tilted their head to the side, intrigued. āWhat makes you say that?ā They asked, thinking theyād been vague enough to keep this little human charade going a little longer. āNow, I donāt know about that. Iād think itād be quite nice to be nursed back to health by someone as lovely as you, Miss Woodhouse. But I suppose I am pretty handy, should you need any help around yourā¦home?ā They asked, unsure if she was still being put up in one of The Instituteās suites. āI change a mean lightbulb.ā
She chuckled, shaking her head. "I doubt a smooth talker like yourself would have problems chatting with anyone." That smile told her all that she needed to know. Clara imagined that there would be many swooning over that smile.
"Magnus is very pretty, but you shouldn't tell him so." She winked at Luc. "His ego is already too large for his own good." Then again, there was more than reason enough for the berserker to be proud of himself. "But I'm sure you will stumble upon Bumbles eventually. You can't miss him."
"Darling, you asked me to smell you." She grinned. The fact that he was raised among shifters was another giant clue, but Luc must already know that. No matter what a person was, Clara treated them all the same. It was curious why he was reluctant to admit that he was a shifter. The nurse knew better than to prod just yet when he was still a relative stranger. "I don't know about that. I'm rather strict when it comes to having a patient follow the doctor's orders." The smile fell off her face at the mention of her home. She wrapped her arms around herself. "I could use the help given that I'm vertically challenged, but unfortunately, my home is still under construction after the headmistress' grand entrance."
With her polite declination, Luc lowered their arms back to their side and gave a little āyour lossā sort of shrug. Though really, the loss was theirs. Instinctively, Luc tugged at the collar of their shirt and took a quick, and hopefully discreet, whiff, just to make sure they didnāt actually smell like an ashtray.Ā āI tell ya what,ā The shifter started, taking the cigarette out of their mouth and putting it out on the heel of their boot. āIāve never denied a pretty woman anything in my life, and I sure aināt gonna start now.ā It was yet to be decided if they would actually quit, after all, there was nothing better than a cigarette after a good fuck. But they could certainly refrain for the time being. āIt was mostly a ploy to get you to talk to me, anyway.ā Flicking the cigarette into the nearest garbage, Luc raised a confused eyebrow at her question. āIām sorry, Bumbles? Ya lost me⦠This place has a bear named Bumbles?ā The Institute really was a world all its own, every day seemed to bring something strange and new. āNo, canāt say Iāve met any bumbles. I grew up with shifters⦠worked with a bunch of bears in a logging camp for a while. I guess getting crushed by a tree was pretty likely too now that I think of it.ā Lucās green eyes watched the flame disappear in fascination. āLuc Devereaux. Iām the new Head of Maintenance.ā The shifter held their hand out towards her, āItās an absolute pleasure, Clara. What do you do here?ā
Clara smiled as politely as possible when declining to smell someone. It was hardly the sort of situation that the blonde often found herself in. Still given there current location, it was hardly the most bazar. She imagined that he must be at least part shifter or were. They did like marking their territory. She raised her brow, watching as he ashed the cigarette before completely extinguishing it. "Oh darling, you didn't have to, but I do appreciate it very much." Whether or not he did quit was hardly her business, yet the small gesture spoke so much of his good character. "But for next time, you can simply come talk to me. There is no need for any ploy."
She chuckled, shrugging her shoulder. "Pet of a friend of mine. He's a beautiful bear once you get to know him, although he is rather intimidating until he learns you are a friend." Not that she'd ever been in danger before. It was simply easier for her to trust that the bear wanted honey cakes more than her flesh.
"I take it that you are a shifter as well. You are in good company. There are some lovely other shifters around here." She'd have to drag out her little black book for some people to introduce him to. Clara took his hand. "I'm a nursing professor. Not as useful to know as the Head of Maintenance, but I do have my uses from time to time."
Wow
Arthur was frustrated. He knew Clara always tensed up when she saw him working magic with his staff. Especially after the mess with the past lives years ago. "Certainly I worry about you." He stated matter of factly before going to find a rat and not wanting to lose his temper.
She knew that he worried. What she was doing counted as a bit reckless. Normally she would never dabble in the so-called darker arts. It was simply a matter of convenience. She watched as he left, kneeling down in the grass to make certain that Arthur being near hadn't broken the circle.
Arthur was attempting to hide the annoyance. he had done some stupid magic from time to time but he was still worried about her. Rituals with blood had a tendency to go wrong or worse addicting. "Alright I'll get the animal..." He let go of her hand and started to turn to use magic to find one. He then turned back. "In the future please tell me before you start a ritual. I'd rather you not get hurt."
Arthur's normally stoic attitude hid most of his feelings, yet Clara could tell the slight twitch as well as the lines near his mouth hinting at his true emotions. "Rat please." No one would miss the rodent. She knew that this was far from over. Once the ritual had been finished, Arthur certainly would have words for her. "I will. And you worry too much, my love. Everything will be fine."
