I believe self diagnosing is dangerous when you're exposed to tumblr. Posts go around describing certain elements/traits of personality disorders and other illnesses in a very relatable way and i believe most people really end up believing that if they relate to a trait of a mental illness they end up embracing a sickness/culture of a sickness they may not have. With most personality disorders especially, pretty much anyone can relate to them in some degree, what makes them disorders is the intensity and frequency of them.

You can pretty much know if you're depressed. It pretty much dawns on you at some point. But beyond that if you're on tumblr there's no real way to separate suggestions from reality. The truth is that any like 'evidence' of possible problems can really be applied to numerous disorders depending on the one you're trying to fit. That's why you need an outside source to put it together for you. All you can do is give a counselor/therapist the clues and let them solve it.

Idk how many people self dx and are correct but i really believe there's something dangerous about identifying into something you don't have. You've "figured something out" about yourself but you really haven't, you've just identified yourself into a hole of more confusion. A lot of us on here share troubles with keeping our thoughts straight so i dont see how at the same time we can clearly know the truth of our issues. A lot of us need some air outside of tumblr.
