"Why did my bike chain have to break today of all days? And it’s payday too…" The pizza delivery boy groaned, as he tried to tinker around with his bike and salvage it. Nope, no good. The chain was as good as broken and he had to use his own two legs. He adjusted the backpack of his current pizza order on his back and folded his arms to think over the situation.

"Well, it hasn’t started raining yet…" The teenager muttered softly looking up at the cloudy sky. "And if I remember the street where the next house was isn’t that far… Maybe I can make it there in time!"

And with that positive thought in mind, Makoto felt better and began to restart his journey again.

Until it suddenly poured down on him.

Clear could often be described as having the disposition of a sunny day, but rainy days were another favorite of his. The rhythm of raindrops against the windows and the pavement outside always had a soothing effect on him, unless accompanied by loud thunder.

Since the weather forecast had advised citizens not to be outdoors for too long, Clear began a thorough cleaning of his apartment, which he hadn't had much time to do thanks to a busy week at work. 

In the middle of vacuuming the carpet, he suddenly dropped the appliance in horror as he realized he'd forgotten something. "Oh no, I still need to get the mail!" It wouldn't be good if rainwater got into the mailbox!

Armed with his trusty umbrella, Clear rushed out under the heavy downpour and retrieved his, thankfully, dry mail. He then noticed a short brunet boy down the street without an umbrella or any cover of his own. The poor thing! Quickly he ran over to the boy and tilted his umbrella to shield him.

"Are you all right? You might get sick if you stay drenched for too long."

Illumi stared at the other for a minute, maybe two. Just. Stared. No words, no… well, blinking either. He just… stared.

And then he smiled.

          ” Show me around? Please do. “

Because he decided the information could be useful.

After the first 30 seconds, Clear had to admit that being the target of a prolonged, unblinking stare made him feel self-conscious. Was there something on his face? Did this person think he looked weird? He patted his face frantically until the stranger spoke again to accept his offer.

"Ah... yes, of course! The market district is close to where we are right now, so I'll start by taking you there!" Clear laughed nervously and turned around to lead the way. Maybe it was just his imagination.

"By the way, my name is Clear! Would you like to tell me yours?"

Anyone on the streets or looking out from their window this Christmas may spy a certain white-haired ball of sunshine dancing and singing carols from block to block, handing out as many festive baked treats as possible out of a large bag he effortlessly carries around.

—♔   He heard his name and turned, smile spreading across his face at seeing another person so full of holiday spirit. And he had a Santa hat on as well! Finally! Someone in this city who was just as excited about Christmas as he was! He was still upset over the fact that his roommates wouldn’t join him in wearing outfits to match the occasion. 

—♔   ”Of course! I don’t mind! The more the merrier." He loved the company. Oh, but this new person seemed to know him already. "Oh! I don’t know your name though…You seem to know mine.”

"My name is Clear! I've seen you around Dahlia Apartment before and overheard your name. I live in Room 1!" Clear opened a large white bag whose contents gave off a sweet aroma. "Would you like a gingerbread jellyfish? I baked them myself and plan to hand them all out!" He beamed proudly.

"I want to go sing Christmas carols door-to-door too! Music is sure to make anyone smile~"

At last, Christmas was nearly upon them. The joy Clear had been waiting to release could be held back no longer and he dashed outside, belting "Jingle Bells" at the top of his lungs as he frolicked through the streets. He soon spotted a fellow resident of Dahlia Apartment throwing confetti and looking just as enthusiastic as he was.

"Merry Christmas! You're Sora-san, right? May I join you in spreading holiday cheer to the whole city?"

          “ I”ve been here approximately eleven minutes. “

His tone turned thoughtful, and he cocked his head to the side.

          ” I’d think it takes longer to form an opinion. “

This man's eyes were like... a deep void. But Clear knew better than to judge someone by their appearance. Maybe this newcomer would be friendly!

"Then I hope you enjoy your stay! I recommend stopping by the park, cafes, or market district first! I can show you around if you want!"
