Me every time a teacher puts on a movie during class. *But, it helped me work on my application :)
Believe it or not this was one of the first videos I watched when I was still considering a career in physical therapy. He answered some of my big questions at the time and was inspiring. Have a watch!
Are you thinking of applying for PT programs for the next cycle? This website is a good place to start! Find “Program directory”: 1. Important deadlines 2. Prerequisites (differ with each program) 3. Score Requirements *minimum requirement differ with each program. It’s a good idea to start early and see which programs best fit your aspirations but also see if you meet their qualifications to apply.
All of my friends and family said that I couldn't do it, but I wanted it so bad for myself and not for anyone else. Look at me now!
Garret Yamamoto, PT, DPT
This semester I had to balance my school work with my application. Here is how my binder was split up so I could easily access my class work and have a separate section for my (PTCAS) application materials. P.S. - a planner helped out as well. I don’t like using my phone calendar, just my preference.
Senior in College
I am in my fourth and final year at Chaminade University of Honolulu. I can say I am excited to graduate in May, but even more so anxious because I am awaiting reply from Doctor of Physical Therapy programs that currently are reviewing my application. It was definitely a challenge to complete the application while juggling my classes and getting clinical experience at the same time. However, I am happy with where I am now with my current classes and am confident that my application is strong. I am hoping that I will be able to enrich other Pre-PT students who are considering in applying to PT schools in the future. I will do my best to share my experiences throughout the process.
