Carefully, you make your way down a path that seems as if it is barely there - perhaps there is no path at all, and you are just hopelessly lost. Then, you hear it. A trickle. You glance over, and decide to head towards the noise. You arrive at an intricate arrangement of waterfalls, designed so carefully they appear natural. Something small and green swoops by, and you realize it's a small Nocturne. When you look again, suddenly the forest around you is filled with life, the life of the Clarus Clan. ~ This will be where I can post all my Flight stuff and Clan lore! you can tell me wildclaws fly and i will never believe it. look at them. they run, not fly. the gladekeeper herself could tell me wildclaws fly and i would stare defiantly into her eyes until nothing is left but her, one single wildclaw, and my burning belief.

i’m sure most of you are familiar with the runes from runestones of the arcanist, particularly the non flight runes. I find them really interesting and like to believe that they represent coalitions between two flights… P: 

I’m also in love with the idea of dragons inheriting heterochromia because they are so devoted to multiple deities. they could also be born with it too, if both their parents are from different flights. I’d wager they would be the most likely to attempt to start coalitions between flights. Being loyal to two must be a unique experience of the world. 

A lot of dragons only have one eye visible so this is not something that could be implemented in-game but we can imagine. You can only see one eye after all, who’s to say the other isn’t a different color… Checkmate

other coalitions could be:

light + shadow = chaos fire + earth = metal nature + water = life lightning + wind = spiral

i’ve been thinking about this post a lot since the new eye types came out, wondering how to incorporate them - and now i kind of like to believe that these heterochromatic dragons were successful with forming coalitions between flights, and that some of the new eye types we are a result of that

say for example dragons from both plague and nature came together and formed their own lesser flight where they worshipped the gladekeeper and the plaguebringer. as time passed and their devotion deepened, their offspring’s eyes began to take on their own, unique color. instead of pure nature or pure plague, instead of the occasional heterochromatic child, their eyes slowly took on a new collective color to represent their loyalty to both deities. to show the world that they are part of the ‘Venom’ flight.

of course you could also just believe these flights exist out there with their own deities, unrelated to the current flights. whatever tickles your peach. so far these are some of the new eye colors that i personally associate with these ‘lesser’ flights.

So I’ve been seeing a lot of pictures of Emperors of other breeds! And I love it! I have two theories for this. 

1. Emperors of other breeds occur when the dragons were ORIGINALLY imps but breed changed later in life. 

2. Emperors of other breeds can happen when the dragons who fused were born with one imperial parent.
