Looking at the date of the video, I can’t help but wonder if this was supposed to be a single before their new album?
I have to share something quickly. Over the last 24 hours I have been listening to a pretty new band called The Warning non-stop. If you have already heard of this band, then you know exactly why I am talking about them.
The Warning is a rock band from Monterrey, Mexico. They were formed by three sisters, Daniela (lead vocalist, guitar), Paulina (drums), and Alejandra (bass), and rose to fame with their cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” back in 2014. In 2015 they released their first EP covered with their own original songs. They then attended a five week course at Berkeley College of Music. Following their success, they played would release their debut album “XXI Century Blood” in 2017, and later that year open for legendary rock bands Aerosmith, Def Leppard, and Alice Cooper at the Mother of All rock festival at the Forum Arena Monterrey. In 2018, they released their second album titled “Queen of the Murder Scene” which saw high showings on iTunes and Amazon rock music charts, and a year later they released their first song sung in Spanish titled “Narcisista”. On August 12 of 2020, the band uploaded to their YouTube channel announcing that they had signed with LAVA Records, who also represent Greta Van Fleet and Lordé. They finished working on their third album which is set to be released this year.
If you have not listened to this band yet, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOING SO. These girls are so talented and deserve more attention! Please reblog to help spread the word about this amazing band!
I just saw this and couldn’t help myself to share this with anyone who will watch this!!! This girl is amazing!!!!!
turn it on! leave it on! demand your MTV!
If you are reading this you are obligated to reblog and list what 3 songs you listened/enjoyed the most in 2020!
IMO AC/DC’s new album is probably the best thing to come out of 2020! Reblog what you thought was the best thing in 2020!
ATTENTION
If you see this you are OBLIGATED to reblog w/ the song currently stuck in your head :)
Love story by Taylor Swift. That’s what I get for making up an Iambic Prose DP AU that’s just romeo and juliet but with assassins and ghosts.
That one Spider-Man cover of that Bruno Mars spng
Moondance- Van Morrison/Michael Bublé
Unpopular opinion but I’m going to say it. Emo isn’t that fucking bad! For the record I am not going through an emo phase and I don’t think I ever really had one, and don’t hit me with the “everyone goes through an emo phase” bullshit because it’s not true. I honestly got into the genre because of my ex-girlfriend and at the time I wasn’t super fond of it but it eventually grew on me. I won’t lie, I am not big into the genre so my knowledge on the bands in the genre are limited to a few, but if I’m being honest it’s actually how I started easing my way into exploring the metal and punk genres further. Even though I don’t listen to emo as much as I use to, I am not ashamed to admit that I like it and neither should you!
1. The Black Parade- Let’s face, whether you want to admit it or not, if you listened to the album and bashed on it when you grew out of it, you’re lying to yourself. The story the album tells is just sad when it starts, but as the album goes on, it becomes more uplifting. This album is an epitome of story-telling through music, and is a masterpiece in it’s own right.
2. Like most genres, it has songs that are relatable- The genre itself is pretty much short for emotional rock. Couldn’t be more on the nose. Not only that but to say that you grew out of listening to songs you can relate to is pure shit, because songs of heartbreak, death, depression, love, etc. is in EVERY FUCKING GENRE!
3. Early emo bands could be considered just as much rock as the Offspring- Sure some bands don’t exactly follow the into the rock part of emo, I’m specifically looking at P!ATD, the genre pulls roots from every rock genre. The main influences are indie rock, punk, and metal, so really your hating on an indie version of grunge.
4. You probably still listen to it- In the late 2010′s, a sub-genre of emo called emo rap started to become mainstream with some of it’s most famous artist being Juice Wrld, XXXTentacion, and Lil Uzi Vert. So if you listen to these artist, just know you are listening to emo.
5. It is the embodiment of music- Much like music in general, emo constantly evolves. While it started off as rock, it slowly began to turn into pop, and now rap. So don’t be surprised if in a few years if an emo version of synth or anti-pop becomes a thing.
Most people look back to the genre with disgust once they grow out of that stage of their life, if they go through it, but that shouldn’t be the case. We need to embrace our past because it defines who we are today. If you hate a genre or band so much that you can’t defend why you liked them, then maybe it was never really worth listening to them in the first place. When it comes to music though, it should be kept in mind that there is no such thing as bad music, just music you don’t like.
A playlist featuring Michael Jackson, Blue Öyster Cult, Stevie Wonder, and others
A while back I made this Halloween playlist, so I thought I’d share it. It has a lot of heavy metal, rock, and classics, but also a little bit of pop. It has 492 songs from Marilyn Manson to Cher to Hollywood Undead. Feel free to suggest songs though because I don’t really consider it complete until I have every song even closely related to Halloween. HAPPY HALLOWEEN.
