This is Charles' wife Emma I was told he was keeping a journal of his life and i figured i should help him finish what he started  Charles Robert Darwin has died The day is April 19 1882 He died at The Down House His last words were to his family and me  "I am not the least afraid of death – Remember what a good wife you have been to me – Tell all my children to remember how good they have been to me" While he was originally going to be buried in St Mary's churchyard at Downe, by the request of his colleagues It was arranged for him to be buried in Westminster Abbey, near John Herschel, and Isaac newton This is the end of the blog of Charles Robert Darwin

I have finally gotten a diagnosis from my multitude of doctors  I have acquired a disease called angina pectoris  All i can say is I've lived a good life and its nice to actually know what affliction i have before it takes me

As my age increases i seem to be getting more and more grief for my work It amazing me how people can act like such, apes

My doctor says that i should be expecting repeated incapacity with episodes of stomach pains, vomiting, severe boils, palpitations, trembling and many others symptom for the rest of my life, the joys of being old

Now i’m laying in bed with stomach problems, headaches and heart symptoms, but my doctor has no idea what the actual ailment i have acquired is I fear i wont be writing in this old thing for much longer

In my old age i haven't been able to get around as much as i used to, nor can i go on adventures anymore But today i got about as close to one as i can get anymore I visited the zoo and i noticed the oddest thing I was watching the orangutan exhibit and the apes behaved just like human toddlers do  Of course i have no scientific data to back me up on that, just the observations of an old man

My friend William Whewell has been trying to get me to take on the role of Secretary of the Geological Society for a while now while i had kept declining, but now i have decided to accept it

I decided to visit Shrewsbury for a while while i'm off 'sick' But as i'm here my uncle Jos pointed out an area of ground where cinders had disappeared under loam, suggesting that this might have been the work of earthworms, which is exactly what i needed to prove their role in soil formation I suppose i didn't get much rest from my work on this trip home

Lately i have been having what i described to my doctor as a uncomfortable palpitation of my heart He has recommended i lay of work for a while and just try to relax

Many years later

Lately i have been putting all of my effort into getting Zoology of the Voyage of H.M.S. Beagle my journal of my time on the Beagle published And i am proud to say my dreams of seeing that happen may almost be a reality

 John Gould has made a discovery involving the birds from the Galapagos I have been so interested in 

It turns out that the birds are from the same species as had been previously noted, but they were different what he called ‘varieties’ of the same type of bird, this would not just apply to the birds i saw, but also the tortoises and any other type of animal you could think of Maybe even humans This is a huge breakthrough in the field of genetics as we have started calling it

1863, December

This is the first time i have been able to write in this journal for a while Right now I am at Cambridge writing my official paper! The paper is about one of the very first things i discovered on my journey on the beagle, South American landmass are slowly rising!

And then on the very same day  John Gould announced that the birds i talked about from the Galapagos islands were indeed the same species of bird, they all just had different beaks! This really helps to support my evolutionary theory's!

After the beagle let us off at Falmouth Cornwall, my father organised investments for me, enabling me to be a self-funded scientist! After that happened all-kinds of scientists wanted to talk to me and i lost track of everyone i meet and many of the discovery i made
