WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK
I FUCKING LOVE DOCTOR WHO
If all of doctor who media disappeared forever and you could only pick one story to save, would it be:
The Mind Robber (Second Doctor serial)
The Horns of Nimon (Fourth Doctor serial)
The Caves of Androzani (Fifth Doctor serial)
Doctor Who: The Movie
Alien Bodies (Eighth Doctor novel)
The Year of Intelligent Tigers (Eighth Doctor novel)
...ish (Sixth Doctor audio)
Scherzo (Eighth Doctor audio)
The Fires of Pompeii (Tenth Doctor episode)
Vincent and the Doctor (Eleventh Doctor episode)
Listen (Twelfth Doctor episode)
There is a right answer btw
(also yeah yeah I know I know but plz reblog this so it gets outside my circle of extreme nerds)
stop voting for nu!who I said there’s a right answer 😤
Okay here's my logic. "The Caves of Androzani" is excellent (and my favorite) but it is not a standalone episode, and teasing people with the beauty of Colin Baker at the end there with the knowledge that that's all of him you will ever see? Cruelty itself.
"Vincent and the Doctor" is a beautiful episode. But it's not really very representative (and again, stands alone better than Caves but is such a character piece that I wouldn't want to divorce it from its context). This is going to be the ONLY Doctor Who media that survives. It needs to be standalone and it needs to be Doctor Who.
It doesn't need to be the best story or my favorite story, it needs to do the best job Being Doctor Who all by itself.
Which is why I voted for the TV Movie.
(Although City of Death is another A+ choice)
For what it's worth, I voted Caves of Androzani
It's my 10 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳
oooooohhh nooooo… I never would have guessed. It’s not like the cover art spoiled me or anything
…
I was gonna put a witty gif here but I need to organize my gif folder. A project for another day perhaps.
Did I never finish Silver Nemesis???! I just left it hanging here like 6 years ago? That’s crazy.
With Twitter quickly spiraling, I’ve been looking at the old posts on this blog. It’s weird because I look at these old posts from so long ago and I don’t even recognize that person as myself anymore. I don’t really talk like this anymore and I certainly don’t write like this. I haven’t looked at this page in several years so this blog feels almost like a time capsule. We’re coming up on 10 years since I made this thing and that’s crazy to me. It feels like both yesterday and also so long ago.
If I were to ever start this up again, I don’t know if I could ever do it the same way. I remember that taking the screenshots and using the gifs in a certain way took quite a bit of effort. I would also think carefully about the way I said things to emphasize my reaction more, which I don’t think I would do nowadays.
On god
The madmen actually did it…
Max!?
The prospect of Doctor Who being good again has awoken me from my 4 year slumber. (Also ngl I kinda liked this episode)

I can’t believe Tumblr is fucking dead
Good episode this week
Seem to be back on form, and next week gives me Seven vibes so we’ll see how that goes.
I’m not gonna lie though, I’m really REEEEALLY not feeling Ryan. He just feels completely pointless to the narrative. He didn’t get to do anything this week and Tosin Cole continues to disappoint in regards to his performance. I don’t know if it’s poor direction at this point or if he’s just incapable of showing anything past “barely interested”
Ok yeah that episode was pretty awful...
Additionally, as much as I’ve enjoyed some episodes this series like The Woman Who Fell To Earth, Rosa and parts of last weeks episode, I can’t help but feel like there is something missing from this series that makes Doctor Who...well...Doctor Who. Its not Jodie she’s fine and doing as well as she can with the material. So I have to assume it’s the writing. I also feel like the directing is kinda off too. Many of the performances are so wooden and boring. I’m sorry but can someone tell Tosin Cole to project/emote more? Ryan always sounds so bored. I’m not sure what’s happening...
Also remember how in Pyramid at the End of the World they were coy about the canonicity (is that a word?) of Trumps presidency by not mentioning him by name and instead have Bill say she wouldnt have voted for him because he’s orange?
So much for that. I guess as of this episode Trump is now canon in the whoniverse...
I adore the new time vortex
I love how chaotic it looks as if its representative of the Doctor fucking with time so much now that it’s messy and unstable.
Also the multiple pathways is a nice touch
I just found out about Britbox
You can finally get all of Classic Who streaming legally??? That’s pretty huge!! Last time I was active in this fanbase, that was pretty much impossible. This might give me just the excuse I need to start this up fresh and new
Do they have the reconstructions, though?
from what I understand, I believe they do!
ok well let’s be real
That episode was just 2018′s version of The Green Death but with spiders.
The Three references just keep coming and I’m absolutely here for it.

Graham is quickly becoming one of my favorite companions in the series.
The things he’s had to go through in just 3 episodes and his perspective on everything is something completely unique to him. And I did not expect Bradley Walsh to give such a perfect performance for him
This is not to say that Ryan and Yaz arent good. They’re great too. Namely Ryan since Yaz has admittedly not gotten a lot to do. But Yaz was pretty damn great in this episode.
I genuinely believe this episode is gonna be one of those episodes we put on our “Essential Episodes for Newcomers” list.
