reasons my generation is so depressed:

sleep deprivation due to early school start times

the economy

oppression

high tensions between different political/social/racial/etc groups

technology/social media means constant updates on bad news

politics, made worse by the aforementioned constant updates

the state of the environment

education as it is right now not preparing us sufficiently for the outside world

pressure to grow up very quickly

parenting/teaching/etc trends in the previous generation(s)

competitiveness in schools, social media and other aspects of life

the world in general that the last few generations have constructed for us

NOT reasons my generation is so depressed:

we’re weak and lazy and we can’t get off our phones uwu

Oh man. Got into a heated arguement in a bar about stupid shit like this. My generation and the generations after me have to deal with so much BULLSHIT that’s been dumped on us from the previous, money hungry, no fucks given, destroy everything they touch generations before us. Our world, our country, is falling apart at the seams, we’re massively in debt, we’re killing the planet, and our parents and grandparents look at us, from their comfy spot on the sofa where they spend day in and day out glued to the TV, and say, “Kids these days never know how hard we had it.” WANNA FUCKING BET?

It’s so hard to invest time into social media when I dislike so much of it. And I’d much rather have people seek me (or more aptly my art) out on their own. Why do I have to make the art and also the effort? :-/

My first watercolor! Yay!

My boyfriend’s parents got me a watercolor set for Christmas and this was the first thing I painted. Super excited to paint more!
