My boyfriend only knows what I've told him about rvb and more specifically the mercs. So here are some of my favorite misconceptions of his:

-Thought RvB was an official Halo short story series. When he found out the real origins he started crying laughing and called me a loser. This was before we were even dating.

-He thought that the Mercs were going to be a much larger part of the story based on how much I've talked about them. Looked like he'd just been confronted with death when I told him they don't show up until s11 after he'd already agreed to watch the show

-Genuinely thought my headcanons and ocs were canon for years based on the detail and conviction that I talk about them with.

-Thought that Locus Felix and Siris were living together on "the worst space ship you've ever seen, a total shitbox" during their bounty hunting days. He's genuinely distraught to find out otherwise. "this ruins my whole perception of them, how are they supposed to hate fuck in a terrible space kitchen now??" I tried to tell him they still could and that they probably have but he refuses to believe me, "its just not the same" he says.

i love him so much there are more incidents of this happening over the years but these are my favorite. He's started just asking me questions about it and the fan perception of things at large.

UPDATE: he is slightly color blind and we are learning just how bad it actually is through this show

UPDATE: We finished up to season 11 and he's really confused by 9 and 10

-everytime the meta shows up he says "what da dawg doin?"

-everytime Theta does anything he looks at me with the biggest and saddest pout, he's very fond of him

-he misses Kaikaina so much, he thinks she's the perfect woman and would leave me for her "in a heartbeat"- his words

-REALLY hates epsilon as a concept. the whole thing freaks him out a lot

-already sick of felix (womp womp, we're just getting started)

-this last one is weird, he started to write a churboose fanfic to spite me, but has a lot of literary elements that mirrored/alluded to stuff that happens in seasons 9 and 10. this is not the first time he's displayed prophetic qualities. This is genuinely becoming a bit scary.

He is here!! Like I said in my last pokemon rvb post tucker's design leans way more into the remake designs of team Aqua. Originally Tucker was supposed to have more of an ice based team because Felix's team is going to be majority steel type which is super effective against ice types.

(I've also translated rank into how many pokemon a person has, so team leaders have four and others have two or 3)

My sibling and I got into a bit of a heated debate over how to represent junior. I had originally wanted to represent both in one go with Chien Pao from gen 9 or Deoxys from gen 3. Tucker would be one of the only characters with a legendary/mythical pokemon and the whole bit is that he's not a high enough lvl trainer to really control them so they just do whatever. I just love the idea of Wash or Carolina realizing these guys have an increadibly powerful pokemon on their side and Tucker is like "oh yeah thats just Junior, he's chill."

civilian rvb oc named Cait Flores, more about her under the cut :0!!

she does nooooot usually look like this but this is from when I was still figuring out her vibe and putting her in different outfits I found in fashion blogs.

When s14 of rvb came out I really liked the shake up of the mercs episodes. Seeing a more civilian side of the world was really fun to me and thinking about what the mercs did outside of work was really fun.

This design was a concept for a side character that works the night shift at a super shitty 24/7 diner that Sam frequented. Not because it was good and not because he liked the atmosphere of the obnoxious retro decor but because it was one of the only places he could go in the middle of the night when he was homeless after the war. (plus it was usually pretty quiet which was nice)

I wouldn't say he and Cait were particularly friends but at some point she got really used to having him around. Usually there's a 2 hr time limit per purchase for customers, but as long as her manager wasn't there she'd let him stay however long he wanted, even give Sam a heads up of when shift changes were coming. If someone sent back their food without eating it, she'd even offer it to him before stealing some for herself.

Sam is a pretty intimidating guy generally, and she'd be lying if she said she wasn't a little freaked out by him at first, but he's very effective when it comes to scaring off a lot of the obnoxious drunk guys that would come in after the bars close for some shitty cheap burgers. "Why get rid of the spider if he kills all of the mosquitos?" kind of mentality.

She's a pretty apathetic person, but is actively really trying to fix it and force herself to care these days. When she was younger she blew off school and basically lived to go from one shitty house party to the next, because whatever, humanity could go extinct at any moment right? Then one day she wakes up and she's not 19 anymore and the war is over, humanity is still here and so is she at 26 with back pain, rent due and no plan whatsoever. She's working on it though.

idk i just really like the idea of Locus interacting with normal people. Like very simple and quiet interactions that a lot of people take for granted, but Locus finds great difficulty with.

RVB Pokemon AU!!! You've been challenged by Team Aqua Grunt, CHURCH!!

His uniform is the original team aqua fits but Tucker and Caboose have some inspo more from the redesigns from the remakes.

I've been waiting to post this one for a while, basically red and blue teams are shells of team aqua and magma stationed out in the Butuda Region which is what I'm calling the region for this AU. More lore dumps to come but for now I'll just leave an explanation of Church's picks.
