I denne videoen forsøker vi å vise opplevelsen brukeren kan få ved å bruke appen. Skulp er såpass abstrakt at den inviterer brukeren til å være kreativ i sin bruksmetode og utforske alternativer. Appen brukes også gjerne over lengre tid. Akkurat det kommer kanskje litt utydelig frem i videoen vi lagde.

The website for our app, Skulp.

Skulp is a playful tool for discovering outdoor art in Oslo.

Oslo Kommune has a large collection of art, where 600 of them is outdoor installations placed around in the city. Kulturetaten has made a webpage for the collection, but it lacks information about the installations and where they are located. The webpage is also very boring and does not give the opportunity to discover art as you move around in the city.

We wanted to make an app that gives you this opportunity. Also, by giving the app a naive and minimalistic look, we wanted to create excitement, and lower the threshold to experience art.

Tidlig research og prototypetesting

En nettside hvor man kan dele erfaringer og opplevelser rundt det å kaste noe.  Hver dag blir et innlegg delt på hovedsiden. Brukeren kan også gå tilbake i historikken, eller sende et potensielt innlegg selv. 

Ettertids refleksjon: koding har vært ekstremt gøy og lærerikt. Definitivt et språk som er verdt å lære seg.

I modified my first concept and product, as I was not satisfied with the “Bee Helmet” and wanted to test another way of providing a similar experience. 

This installation consists of hats that the visitor can put on in order to read some hidden signs, leading them around the exhibition. I thought the experience could be especially exciting for children, running around and looking for the hidden messages. 

On each red squares, the visitor can read an amazing fact about bees. One of the facts is that bees can see UV light. They see more patterns on flowers for example, helping them find nectar. That was the idea behind the red filter and the hidden messages. 

For further work with the project, I would like to test and sew different hats, looking a bit more like bees’ head for example.

Car-lamp

In this workshop we built a lamp focusing on an interesting way of switching the light on and off.

This lamp was the result of a 5 days long project held under the interactive products course at AHO. The focus in this workshop was the interaction of a lamp switch and the resulting human behavior. The car-lamp is a children’s lamp, consisting of a toy car the user can move in and out of the cubic lamp. As the car is moved inside the cube, a switch is pressed down and the light is turned on. In this project, I wanted to build a lamp with a simple and easy way of understanding the switch. Besides, the lamp gives an entertaining experience for little and grown-up users.

BRIEF 4: What is a switch?

We designed 6 switches in one hour. 1 switch pr 10 minutes.  Our focus was how one would interact with a switch and how switches shape interactions with objects.

These switches were made by @gsaestad, @eilarishovd, @legolai and myself!

BRIEF 2: make a vending machine. 

My group and I decided to build a machine providing the delightful experience of getting an ice-cream. 

After paying and starting the machine, an ice-cream appears on a band moving all the way around the machine, as a carousel. As the band goes, the user can press on big buttons above to add chocolate and sprinkles to the ice-cream. 

When the ice-cream has travelled around, the user can either buy another carousel round for more chocolate, or press the “done” button which puts a spoon in the ice-cream.
