Rafael looked at the girl and raised a brow, replying in equally soft tones, âOh were you under the understanding that we came from people inclined to be equalitarian? I recall enough of the history. At least here I am not shoved to the lowest strata because of where my people originally come from or because I speak Spanish better than English. The world has always been divided into leaders and followers for rarely as thorough a reason as they provide here. Usually it is something ridiculous like the color of skin or the fact that I have a cock and you are to be considered less because you do not. Ridiculous nonsense.â Eduardo shrugged expressively. âPerhaps this place is equally arbitrary and only pretends to be otherwise. I do not know yet. But it is worth a chance, no? To have leaders who were meant to lead because it is something in them that drives them in this manner and not merely because they possess blue eyes and white skin.â
"Whether or not the people we came from were egalitarians is besides the point.â She argued, tone not holding the amusement that it tended to, yet too soft and gentle to come across as rude - almost informative. âHistory also had a repeatedly clear presence of people trying to fight to remove systematic barriers, of wanting the opposite of what our leaders deemed as okay. You canât justify this kind of divide just because it doesnât come with some of the negatives that things in the past did. The fact still stands that thereâs an unjust here and an entire world just beyond the walls capable of being built on much better grounds.â Her eyes flashed, examining the space around them, being sure that no one else was nearby enough to listen in before she shook her head, lifting her glass to her lips and taking a swig of the liquid. âThis place has no thorough reason let alone a logical one.â
