“You’re kidding? Maybe I can show you how to make tea at some point, it’s a skill nobody can really live without!”
“Trust me, you don’t want to be the one responsible for letting fire-hazard Caprice Warbeck near the stove.”

Ash brushed eraser shavings off his paper, frustration balling up in his stomach. “Shit.”
The library wasn’t really a place Connor frequented. He didn’t always like reading books just for the fun of it, and studying wasn’t exactly something he did religiously. Still, homework did catch up to a guy once in a while, and History of Magic was pretty unforgiving. Connor looked up from his paper, noting a younger ravenclaw student hunched over a sketchbook. He was sitting in front of a window, and the sunlight was drifting in just so….The lighting was perfect. He had to snap a picture. Carefully, he withdrew his camera and lined up the frame, and took the shot. Snap.
A familiar click made Ash perk up. He, admittedly, couldn’t see much past the glare of the sunlight. The library always seemed darker in the daytime. Candlelight seemed like only the most natural lighting for books, whilst harsh sunlight seemed counterproductive. When a quick scan about what he could make out of the space revealed nothing out of the ordinary, his frustrations with drawing resumed. Why were feet so damn hard to recreate…? Another attenpt proved to be even less successful. With a fit of anger, he swatted at his pencil, sending it flying across the room.
Connor winced at how loud the shutter sound seemed to be. Way to be subtle, even if no one else did seem to be looking over. The deed was done either way, he supposed. He looked at the still frame caught on his camera, pleased at his findings-the lighting was perfect even if the framing wasn't the best. Ash was sitting perfectly still aside from a slight movement of his hand as he drew-a perfect submission to the gazette! Connor was quite pleased with himself. He looked up suddenly as the boy tossed his pencil across the room in a sudden movement, the eraser striking him right on the forehead. "Watch it!"

I’m still not used to jumping straight into Christmas. I don’t think I’ll ever be used to not getting ready for Thanksgiving. We should have a Thanksgiving feast here.

So… How have you been? I visited my aunt recently and she asked about you. Thought I’d follow up.
“Fair enough, Kaya. Mostly just looking around at jobs and such, for after graduation and all that. And…Wait, your aunt asked about me? As in, your famous aunt?”
I wouldn’t say she’s famous. Just well known. But yeah! She likes you. She thought you were “interesting” but I never know what she means because she’s a Taurus. They’re just so hard to read, you know?
“Are they? I mean...Well, considering I’m one, yeah, I reckon maybe, but I always consider myself an open book. You were always way ahead of me in terms of astrology, it’s nice to see that hasn’t changed.”
“Oh my God…”
“No kidding!! Did you have any idea developing film could result in explosion? Because I definitely didn’t.”
