the best friends are the ones who make themselves at home. The ones that ask for their favorite sweatshirt of yours to wear upon stepping in the door. The ones that sort of ‘adopt’ a certain blanket in your house that they use very time they sleep over. The ones that don’t really ask for food, but know exactly where in your kitchen to go when they’re feeling snackish. The best friends are the ones who aren’t afraid to be themselves around you and your family. They make themselves comfortable, and in turn set you at ease.

you are not boring

Your interests are cool, even if they are not what your friends, family, or peers enjoy. If your hobbies are low-key and quiet, it doesn’t mean they are uninteresting or that they don’t matter. If your idea of a perfect sleepover is a night spent sipping tea and reading/softly chatting with a friend or two, you’re not alone, that’s really neat. You don’t have to be loud or overstimulating to be fun. This world can be an over-the-top place with in-your-face people, but it doesn’t mean you have to be that way or like things that are that way. Spending a lot of time in your bedroom doesn’t make you boring. Having very few followers on social media / not being active on social media doesn’t make you boring. Being quiet, shy, or preferring to be alone doesn’t make you boring. Not liking what all of your friends like doesn’t make you boring.

Being different doesn’t make you boring.

It makes you unique, and that is a wonderful thing to be.
