Spencer sighed to himself as he pulled in his usual spot in front of the townhome he shared with his girlfriend, his grip on the steering wheel loosening as he sunk into the seat. His head was spinning and the last person he wanted to see was Nora, but he promised to take her out that night to celebrate a work achievement… Or something, he hadn’t really been listening as intently as he let on. Regardless, he made the promise and he couldn’t back out of it now. With a sense of hesitation coursing through his body, Spencer reached for his phone and texted his girlfriend to let her know he was outside waiting for her.
Within a matter of minutes, he could see the familiar head of blonde hair pop out of the door. The rest of the ride to the pub consisted mostly of Nora going on and on about her day and how she felt she wasn’t appreciated enough at work to which Spencer simply nodded and offered the occasional ‘you’re right’ whenever appropriate. After what felt like forever, he finally pulled into the lot of the pub and parked. Somewhere between his car and the entrance of the pub, Spencer talked himself into cheering up and at least trying to act happy for Nora’s sake. Once they sat, he immediately ordered them both drinks and just as he was about to turn to his girlfriend, he heard a familiar voice… One he never thought he would hear again. He carefully turned his head and his jaw nearly hit the ground when he saw her… Allison, just as beautiful as she had been the last time he saw her. “Allison?” his voice cracked. It was almost as though his girlfriend didn’t exist in that moment. “H-how are you?” Spencer felt his girlfriend nudge him and that brought him back to earth. “Oh, this is my girlfriend… Nora,” he paused. “And Nora, this is an old friend of mine, Allison.”
“Hey”, she waved coyly, as she heard her name coming out of Spencer’s lips. She didn’t know she’d ever hear that voice calling her. It seemed like...did she make him uncomfortable? Well, the situation called for it and in a way Alli was the type that liked other people being tortured with their own doings. Seperating was both of their fault, but at this point she decided to ignore that. “I’m doing well. I came back for Hannah’s wedding...you know? I bet it’s all you can hear about these days”, she made an annoyed face. She was going to ask how are you-back but she saw the girl nudging Spencer and she chuckled. It stung a bit, being called an old friend. And she didn’t know if the dissappointment showed on her face. She deserved more than this title. “Nora-nice to meet you”, she gave out her hand, as she faked some sort of excitement about seeing those two. She went to L.A for that; she could bet she could fool anyone. Could she fool Spencer? “How are you two?”, she asks not sure if she was willing to learn about Spencer’s love life at this point-but just for the sake of being nice and pretentious.
