Hey I saw your dog's 1 year birthday video and was wondering the process you used to training your dog to hop onto your back. I live in an apartment that doesn't have an elevator and I'd like to train my puppy to be comfortable in a fireman's carry. He's small enough that I can carry him up and down the stairs but he is definitely going to be a big boy! I know people who own Great Danes use the fireman's as do military working dog handlers, so if you have any tips I'd greatly appreciate it :3

How big is your dog? I would not recommend this trick to go down stairs. Especially with a great dane. Since he is just a puppy you definitely do not want him jumping as this can lead to joint problems. Its not a recommended trick for large dogs. I do not know what you mean by fireman's carry, but if that is some sort of bag you can definitely train a dog to go in to a bag without jumping.

I hate street harassment, but I don't hate men

Just have to get this out there. I am a “fat bitch” so most of the street harassment I get is guys making jokes about me amongst their friends, men yelling “fatty” out their car windows and rude stares. I am 5'7 and 170 pounds, wear around a size 12-14 dress, blah blah blah. I know this is “normal” size to be, but let’s face it normal these days is considered fat. I find it ironic that most of these instances happen when I am out walking- something considered a healthy way to lose weight. Yesterday as I was taking my three dogs to the park a man in his car rolled down the window and yelled “fat cunt” and quickly sped off. His friends were in the car laughing.

And trust me, I have not been fat my whole life. Up until I was 20 I weighed around 125 pounds give or take. I was always “stacked”(even then my bra size was 38D) and I have never needed to shave my legs as I don’t grow hair on them. Back then the street harassment was much worse, in fact part of me believes that the reason I feel so comfortable with my current weight is that I get much less street harassment. I think this is sad in a way. 

I have had men follow me home, lick their lips at me, try to chat me up on the bus at 3am (when no one else is riding), and all sorts of creepy shit. Once when I was 14 I was on my cell phone and left a message on a friends voicemail and gave her my phone number. I was sitting on a bench in front of a subway station when I phoned her and did not think twice. An hour later a man called me and said he overheard me giving someone my number and he wanted to know if I could go on a date with him. I was terrified and promptly hung up. He continued to call so I gave my mom the phone and she told him off. That freak was an old man wanting to date a 14 yr old. Fucking pervert. My mom on the other hand after telling the man off, did something very typical of victim blaming culture, she gave me shit for having a private conversation in public in which I gave my phone number. How was I supposed to know any better?

You see that’s the problem and why men continue to street harass and think it’s ok. I don’t hate men, and I don’t think they are all evil shits. However their behaviours need adjustment and I think victim blaming is the culprit. I have never once received creepy harassment from a woman. Not once. Why some men think it’s ok to approach strange women riding the bus or subway alone at night I do not know. And the “don’t ride the subway alone at night or if you have to stay in lit areas” type of mentality is to blame for this behaviour. How about we teach males “Don’t talk to strange women riding alone”?

I am black, native, and white and I've noticed since I've been little that people go nuts when they find out about my native ancestry and they ignore that I'm part black and they don't express interest like they do with my native ancestry. If I hang out with someone, and say we're in a shop and they have dream catchers (which isn't even anything to do with my tribe) they have to let me know and always try to get me to be over by stereotypical native stuff. I wonder if anyone else has this issue

I notice that whenever some anonymous white person claims shit like “I don’t see colour” they are so quick to bring up their distant native ancestry. Take note that they NEVER claim black ancestry, because as we all know black people in N. America got Eurocentric features by osmosis..(s)...

My mom is white and my dad is Asian. I look 100% asian. Everyone I come across seems to always obsess over my Asian part and forgets about the white part. People only express interest in my Asian half and love to shame me for not knowing much about it. My dad died when I was a kid and the Korean community wasn’t apart of my life. I was rejected by Koreans during my growing years. Yet whites love to tell me how I’m self loathing, white washed, etc.
