GAVIN STENHOUSE as Evan Hartley Kung Fu (2021) Season 1 Episode 8: âDestinyâ
having friends is important because otherwise youâll stay convinced your parents are normal
hate it when the people who I love are suffering due to circumstances beyond my control đ there should be a sea monster that I can slay to fix the problem
nobody ever gets locked in a tower or chained to a rock at sea anymore - it's always some shit like chronic illness or ptsd related depression
Would you rather be fifteen minutes late or forty-five minutes early to everything?
watched severance. I Understand Now.
scattered assortment of thoughts in no particular order bc my brain is still busy imploding
huge fan of them showing the Skull Drill onscreen. something about how the procedure is sanitized and sold as an escape from pain and inconvenience. you canât feel it happening. it doesnât hurt. there is sawdust on the floor made of Your Bones
(guy who has had some very specific life experiences watching severance s1): âwhy does harmony cobel talk like a religious ex-homeschooler undergrad with a perfect academic record but zero people skillsâ
(watching severance s2): âoh.â
this showâs ability to answer every âoh but wouldnât it be fucked up if someone used this tech to [x]â you can think of with âtheyâre already doing it and itâs even worse than you imagined!â is frankly awe inspiring
dylanâs wife cheating on him with himself is simultaneously one of my favorite arcs in the show for what it reveals about his character and also objectively hilarious. him referring to it as âdeeply fucking indecorousâ had a permanent impact on my personal ranking of favorite adjectives and maybe my entire life
s2 finale contains maybe the most realistic depiction i have ever seen televised of what it would Actually look like if a random office worker was suddenly forced to play action hero. and it slaps
i want mr milchick to have a nice day more than i have ever wanted anything. i donât care that he was torturing people i forgive him.
the problem with jame eagan is that i want basically every character on the show and several characters who never even appear onscreen to beat him to death with their bare hands and if this even happens probably only one of them will get to do it
i was NOT prepared for the difference between a melon party and a waffle party
what if the one time you were truly loved by someone, neither of you were actually there for it. what if you still had a profound and unexplainable connection with this total stranger, even though he ws married. What if the love he still had for you required that you could never see each other again and you could never fully experience the love you have waited for your entire life first hand, only bask in the shadow of it. And you were finally ready to be loved, and you want it, and you know you have it, but the only thing he can do for you is send you off on a train to someplace he can never know. and you never kiss, but you finally feel loved anyway. this happened to my friend Irving Bailiff
>#I love how this gag would be funny at any point since the third century BCE
Rocky was in space for 50 years of course the recuperation period is long and hard
Hi Bumble!
I hope you are doing well and are safe. I just wanted to say that I love your fics you are so talented. I wish I could write as well as you! Iâve appreciate your writing so much. As a queer person (bi, ace), seeing queer art and the depth you write our relationships itâs heartwarming.
But I was wondering would you ever consider doing a series or one shots for Interview with the vampire? (The new show)
Lots of love,
A long time Anon
Hello!!
Thank you for the kind words! It's been a journey with this blog, and being able to add more representation to fanfiction (be it through queer rep and other types) has been a joy. With enough practice and patience, anyone can get to a point in their writing where they're satisfied with the result!
And I do have two works for the show!
that ânegative kudosâ poll really got me lol i have a full time job and a family. do you know what that means lol. I donât think many people know what that means? it means i have maybe 1 hour MAYBE 2 hours a day that are mine unless i sacrifice sleep. and i use them to write fic most of the time and then i chose to post it online. And there is a subset of people that exists out there that thinks they can and should be able to publicly dislike or negative kudos your fic if they donât like it instead of just continuing to scroll or hitting back. man no wonder so many people are so easily turning to AI, this unfeeling unflinching thing that just gives and gives more and more slop but who cares about the quality or the person who made it as long as you can just demand more and more and be given more and more. Fic and fanart are not products, you do not get to âreviewâ them. We call it commenting because itâs not a review. And kudos doesnât reflect on quality, it means thank you for sharing. if you feel the need to complain about something someone used their precious and rare and still valuable time to create for you for free, keep scrolling or literally just die
i was training a young person at work, and she referred to sexual assault as "SA" out loud, and i immediately was like, "no, it's sexual assault, call it what it is," bc idgaf if the algorithm overlords have taught y'all that you should fear direct language, how tf do any of you expect to ever address real issues with any amount of seriousness if you can't even say the words? imagine an advocate looking a sexual assault survivor in the eyes and asking "did he grape you?" it's absolutely fucking absurd, but these young interns and new hires are coming into an environment where we deal with survivors of all different kinds of abuse, and they're coming with the mindset that the words are as bad as the actions, and that makes them shitty at the job and look juvenile af
i HATE self-censorship for a lot of reasons, but being in crisis work makes it even more frustrating. who are you censoring for? like i am being so fr, WHO are you censoring for? have you even thought it through? people who have been raped know that they have been raped. if someone attempts suicide or is grieving someone who did, saying "sewer slide" isn't going to protect them from any of the feelings. a murder victim's family isn't going to feel better bc you said "unalived" instead of murdered. if anything, it's just extremely invalidating and othering. it's saying "what happened to you is so bad that i won't even say the word," which is NOT trauma-informed care. you are not protecting survivors/victims when you self-censor. the ONLY things you protect when you self-censor are the puritanical ideologies that are being encouraged by rich fascists who want your money and obedience
say the fucking words, guys. just say the goddamn words before i go insane!!!
It's wild blueberry season in Sweden and I've been picking and eating my fill everyday from the forest behind my house! The entire forest floor is covered in wild blueberry bushes and the tangy taste is so cosmic, I had to paint themâš Photos of the berries I picked!
Painting process~
A Notice of Invasion
You know. it look me a really long time to re-open the invasion. I moved across the country. I changed a lot. I think I needed that change to actually be able to sit and really think about how Info changed too. Im really sorry about the super long hiatus, but I wont lie - I think it was needed. I dont think I could've finished this story before now. I dont think I could've properly textualized how Info grew as a person into someone both recognizable as Info and so vastly different from the nameless person who left Cairo until now.
Chapter 23 will be out soon. Along with the rest. The end is in sight. Wait for me?
watching the DND movie again and there are just SO many things to love about it but the one I keep coming back to is how Holga is ALLOWED to be a Barbarian. She has muscle. She has body hair. She has visible scars and tattoos that aren't "pretty". Her armor actually covers her body and isn't designed to be sexy. She's a messy eater. She walks with strength and doesn't sashay. She is gruff and violent and powerful, but still gets moments of genuine connection and emotion because the writers haven't conflated Strong Woman with Emotionless Mannequin. She's a mother figure and loves her child but doesn't magically soften for it. They haven't written her to be "dumpy" for being a strong woman, she is both extremely attractive and not particularly feminine.
I fucking love her and I'm so glad the writers did her right.
