at this point in the game, if you’re doing social justice work, it is unacceptable to me to not have ANY mention about accessibility on your website or event info. at the very least, even a simple, “please contact us about accessibility” or “this space is not wheel chair accessible” or SOMETHING to show that you even pondered accessibility for a fleeting moment. i am not asking for disability justice here, i am just asking for basic access. and for reals, on a personal note, it would literally save me SO SO SO MUCH time in my life to not have to go on a freaking access scavenger hunt every time i want to go and be with the movements that i work my ass off for everyday. i love yall, but please get it together.

Thank you again to everyone that supported, volunteered, played, did a workshop, and came to this year's Combating Latent Inequality Together Fest in New Brunswick (well really Highland Park)! Doing a fest of this magnitude in our small DIY scene was definitely a difficult one, but the end result was more than worth it!

Thanks to you we raised over $6000 for Women Aware! We really couldn't have done it without any of you!

LAST MINUTE WORKSHOP ADDITION!!!

This is a topic that our collective really wanted to have a workshop on and we are so glad that this will be able to happen.

Demystifying (?) the Immigrants of the New Millenium in the U.S.

Marisol Conde-Hernandez, Rutgers alum and co-founder of the New Jersey DREAM Act Coalition, will offer an interactive presentation that examines stereotypes of "modern-day" immigrants and shatters them with personal testimony, an overview of the complexities of U.S. immigration law and history, and a review of current national and state-level immigration policies. 

Marisol, a proud feminist, has presented on topics of immigration, most notably, the DREAM Act, for seven years and is often labeled the "face" of the DREAM Act and the In-State Tuition bill in NJ.

SHELLSHAG is a two piece based in Brooklyn, NY. The band is comprised of Shell, who play guitars and sings, and Shag, who plays drums, sings, and dances along so that the bells that are attached to her belts jingle. You will fall in love with their love. You can see them on SATURDAY, JULY 14TH at this year's C.L.I.T. FEST.

FORCE QUIT is a hardcore punk band from Toronto, Canada. They play loud and fast and will get your head banging and body moving. They are the band traveling the furthest to C.L.I.T. Fest this year! We are excited to welcome them to New Jersey and have them play this year's fest on SATURDAY, JULY 14TH.
