♡: Our muses kiss under a mistletoe.
Ben looked at Mary Jane for a long time before his eyes glanced back up to what she was pointing at. The mistletoe hung over them like an impending balance, and if Ben’s rocky skin could have shown the blush, his cheeks would have been redder than her hair. He chuckled awkwardly before giving her a slight shrug and a tilt of the head. “Rules are rules.” He muttered sheepishly while looking back down at her. “Not that I’m complaining.” Ben mused before tenderly brushing some of her hair back. He leaned down and closed his eyes before meeting her lips with his as he gave a soft smile.
♛: Our muses kiss at midnight on New Year’s.
10. Ben let out a small breath, knowing that it was now or never. The mistletoe had been one thing, but there was just something much more magical about the brand new year, right? 9. Something that was less unprecedented than any other time of the year. It would be the perfect time. 8. He liked her so very much too. He had to let her know. If not now, then when? 7. He set his champagne down on the table, having had a huge gulp of it moments before to settle his nerves. 6. The finals moments were coming in as the ball rose higher and higher in Times Square. 5. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to his large form. At the very least, she’d be the first person he would wish a happy new year too. 4. No, no. He could wimp out so late in the game. 3. There were mere seconds closing in on him. 2. Now or never, remember. He turned her frame against his, as he felt his heart racing. 1. Gently, he leaned in and pressed his lips against hers, leaving her with a kiss. “Happy New Year, Mary Jane.” He muttered out under his breath.
➸: Our muses decorate their house together.
She was singing all the right tunes, and he only hummed along, bringing in box after box of all the Christmas themed goodies. It wasn’t every year Ben got so festive, what with having lived a lifetime of celebrating Hanukah, but with Mary Jane, he wanted to make her happy, and he really got into it, having raided the stores for all the lights and decorations. “Our place is going to put the Griswold’s to shame.” He joked with her as he pulled out an inflatable snowman.
Stringing the lights up was easy as he easily hoisted Mary Jane on his shoulder and held her with one hand, keeping her balanced, and feeding her the lights with the other. It was a very precise system that wouldn’t have worked so well without the size of Ben, something he was rather proud of. And, once they lined the house with lights, it was time to string the trees outside. Their whole yard was going to be lit up with the festive green and red lights he had gotten them.
♘: Our muses put up a Christmas tree and decorate it.
"She is a beauty.” Ben started out, his hands on his hips as he admired the bare tree in the corner of the room. All of his handy-work into making it stand worked out perfectly, and he was rather proud of what he and Mary Jane had picked out.
“It’s a little...empty, don’t you think?” Mary Jane asked with a short nudge in Ben’s side.
He chuckled and then gestured to the box of lights and ornaments, perfect for decorating any standard tree. “Let’s get the lights on it first, and then we can do the ornaments.” He smiled down at her before pulling out the strands of light and connecting them all together. With teamwork, they wrapped the lights around the tree and gave it a shine that plugged into the wall. Then, Ben delicately placed some of the ornaments at the top of the tree, while Mary Jane covered the bottom half, making sure to leave no branch untouched. It was beautiful, a masterpiece even, and once they were both done, Ben and Mary Jane stepped back to admire their work.
“It looks good.” Mary Jane smiled up towards Ben as he looked down at her.
But Ben shook his head, and wagged a finger at her. “It’s not done yet. We have one final piece.” Mary Jane skeptically looked him over as he reached into the box of decorations and pulled out a golden star. “Would you do the honors?” He asked her, handing the star over and lifting her by the waist so that should could place the tree topper.
