the 2019 and 2020 sky seasons really had me thinking we were just in for a repeat of that with how the sky were looking mid 2021 season. and then they just pulled it together, it was incredible to watch. that last game vs phoenix for me encapsulated the entire season. the way they went down and then fought back with multiple 3's from allie really just made being a fan of that team come full circle.

it also made 2022 way more heartbreaking.

i totally forgot i had this ask sorry anon 🕊️ but yea i get so nostalgic thinking about that championship run that team was truly special. i’ll never forget where i was when they collapsed in 2022 i was heartbroken because the team as we knew it would be changed forever and now the sky may be more down bad than they’ve ever been 💔

Besides the playoff run what other 2021 sky games should I be watching?

ooh definitely the games during the 7 game win streak (june 9-24), the september 5 game where allie dropped like 22 points, and i think an underrated game being the first one of the season when they played the mystics. those were probably the most bearable ones that season lmao.

now if you really want to ✨feel something✨ watch the media day press conferences at the beginning, then the entirety of the regular season (only 32 games), the playoff run and the press conferences after those games, and then the parade. idk maybe that’s a bit much lol but for me it really puts stuff into perspective into just how crazy that season was and what a wonder it was they won

they were sweet! i wish the sky would make a compilation of them which may actually happen cuz it seems like they recorded stuff for a bts episode or something. it was a little hard to concentrate on some of them because they played them while there was still so much going on but i remember kahleah, stef, diamond, cheyenne, pokey, sloot and james doing one and they were basically just short few second messages of how happy they were for allie.

i agree with you on the james one i was shocked he even made a video and the arena kinda went silent when he started speaking lmao. sky fans aren’t letting go of that grudge ever😭
