i was able to find almost ALL of trimax at book off while traveling around japan!! the only volume im missing now is the first one now. also, i found the first two original trigun manga too!
the other big finds were the vash version of the tristamp dvd (which included HIS WANTED POSTER JFKSKCKAOCKA MY SUNSHINE BOY AHHHHHH <3333) and a like, 20 year old gacha trinket of him too !!!

HELLO ALL! welcome to another year of selfshiptober. i've noticed this is pretty much the 'official' selfship tober event now, which honestly warms my heart! i love seeing what this wonderful community does with my prompts :)
this year, i'm doing things a little differently. EACH DAY HAS TWO PROMPTS ASSIGNED TO IT. the first set is SHIPPY, while the second set is SPOOKY. you may either COMBINE THE TWO PROMPTS TOGETHER or CHOOSE ONE OF THE PROMPTS. the spooky prompts are a bit on the grittier side and probably won't appeal to most, so if you'd like to only use the first set of prompts and completely ignore the second, be my guest! on the other hand, if you prefer the gritter prompts, you can only use the second set of prompts, you can do that too! if you want an extra challenge, you can create a piece that incorporates both of the day's prompts. you can also change your approach depending on how you feel that day!

i havenāt been drawing digitally much as of late, but i did finish a sketchbook somewhat recently that was filled with LITERALLY OVER A HUNDRED VASH DRAWINGS ā¦
so i thought i might as well share some of those! itās so engrained in me to only post āfinished piecesā and āmy best workā but thatās stupid and silly >:( so iām revolting against my own brain and posting a bunch of vash sketches from my sketchbook RAAHHH
take a look to get a sneak peak into my traditional art! i used lots of inspiration and references for these to help push my way through art block, so take this as a sign to always keep creating as best you can (even when your brain might fight against you). just draw what makes you happy. B-)
your si š¤ my si becoming bounty hunters and having a thomas (my si's thomas is named Goose ajjsjs)
oof this is going to be a long post probably but si backstory time! my si has a sorta fallout vault vibe going on bc of her backstory, she lived her life in a SEEDS ship (it was kinda broken but still functional), I imagine her family lived out in no man's land before bartering their way onto the ship before she was born, the higher ups who run the ship (mostly scientists) are definitely strict and honestly quite suspicious, no one's allowed to leave the ship therefore mostly no one has even seen the outside which is very conflicting for my si bc on one hand she wants to know what's out there so bad she wants to explore but on the other hand she's used to living inside the ship and she knows it's safe the ship is all she's ever known. It's probably no surprise that the higher ups are actually experimenting on the ships colony without their knowledge or consent (putting things into the food, people occasionally going missing bc they're 'sick' etc.), eventually whatever the hell the scientists are doing effects her as well, the best way I can describe her symptoms is vampiric (heightened senses, extended lifespan, sharp canines, eyes sensitive to sunlight, significant increase in strength and speed and healing, etc.) tho luckily she doesn't have a thirst for blood ajsjjs, it isn't long after that the ships colony realizes what's been happening to them and it descends into chaos. most manage to leave/escape the ship, her included, after that she kinda keeps to herself and becomes a wanderer and occasional bounty hunter when she's low on money, ngl it was a difficult adjustment at first she'd get sunburned so easily and almost constantly be sweating but she's come to enjoy the freedom and adventure of it all. at some point she does run into vash and that kickstarts lots of craziness for her ajsjsjsj
OMG OMG OMG wait they can ride around on their thomas together ... also her thomas' name being goose is SO CUTE BWAHH ;;w;;
and the bounty hunter pipeline?? SO REAL??? gotta make ends meet in no man's land somehow ... loooove love bounty hunter trigun s/is B-))
the whole inhuman, almost vampiric aspect of her is also AWESOME!! she and vash could commiserate and really bond through having that shared experience of trying to fit in with the world of "normal" humans on no man's land. 100% the trigun crew would fashion a little umbrella or something to keep her out of the sun when traveling too ā¢į“ā¢

omg Iām so honored you want to know more about her hngggg :ā-))) ok ok this might be a bit long-winded but I do have a whole story for her ā¦ I have thought out her like whole backstory and how she would be incorporated into tristamp, trimax, and the ā98 anime ā¦
but OK HERE WE GO!
so she grew up in a smaller town built in the shadow of Octovern, one of the seven major cities of no manās land! her father works as a manager at the local plant sites in Octovern, and her mother is the village doctor. her mother similarly taught her how to shoot a gun and get shit done, being the daughter of july military police officer.
growing up she spent most of her time with her mom, learning the trades of medicine and surgery as she treated small village ailments (like an injury from working the local plant sites, etc.). this helped her to grow into a well-trained medic by the time she finished with her primary and secondary schooling. in this time she also often got target practice on their property, her mom adamant that when she inevitably went out on her own she would damn well know how to keep herself safe.
from there, she went on to become basically a traveling medic! the wanderlust bug got her good, and she started going town to town on the back of her thomas (named jiji) helping to treat the ill and injured. however, she began to run into the work of knives as she traveled.
this meant that small injuries and illnesses she was used to seeing turned into basically helping to bury entire towns as she moved from place to place, seeing more death, more destruction, and more suffering in each town sheād travel through. it all culminated in her actually being in-town for the stealing of a plantā looking up with the dead basically piling in her arms to see a glimpse of knives through his whirling blades. the moment of catching his eye seemed to set off something in her, that being the realization that she couldnāt heal the damage that was now being done by who she thought to be āvash the stampedeā. trailing monsters and trying to patch up the damage they caused wasnāt cutting it, so she would go after the monsters themselves.
from there her time as a bounty hunter began! her hardiness from many years traveled on the open road in addition to a childhood spent learning to shoot with her mother made her surprisingly good at it, and slowly she developed a reputation of taking out the rising stars in the criminal world. this earned her the moniker āstarfallā, which she would go by in her work as a bounty hunter.
specifically in referencing tristamp, her time with vash starts prior to the events of the showā having tracked him down and believing him to be the man she saw stealing plants some years earlier. she remembered those eyes, that malice, and was determined to bring him to justice.
though, in tracking him to the local tavern, watching the pretty tall man in the red coat flutter from table to table with the softest of smiles started giving her second thoughts. she still followed him out into the alley after he finished his pint, she still pulled her gunā taking aim and wondering if she might try to score his bounty with him dead rather than alive. but, in seeing his eyes she knew in her heart that he wasnāt the same monster she had seen all those years ago.
though, her tracking of him did not come without itās tag-a-longs, meaning that almost instantly other bounty hunters were upon the pair. this caused her to make a decision, to go against what she had promised herself and help the humanoid typhoon to escape from the other hunters. she ended up helping him to escape, in the process following him on his way back out into the unforgiving desert.
from there, her name as āstarfallā takes on a new meaning as she is lumped in with vash as an accompliceā becoming the star of the bounty hunter world that fell in shame when she banded together with the criminal she had sworn to take down. as the show starts she would be seen side by side with vash as a similarly non-violent accomplice that is always trying to clear their names.
she and vash go through several relationship phases starting with being unwitting accomplices, then developing a deep friendship, to then navigating hidden feelings. vash finds himself so disheartened that her hands (which had been taught first to heal, not to harm) had to turn to violence in an unforgiving world, and resolves to try and make it a better place. he hopes to allow her and all humans to return back to a time of peace. :ā)))
she quickly takes to meryl when they meet, and sees roberto as a mentor-figure while nicholas is instantly an annoying older brother figure. iāve found it through reading some AWESOME fanfics but i think that nic calls her ālittle bugā since vash often refers to her as āmayflyā. ;w; vash calls her mayfly long before they ever admit their feelings for each other ā¦ itās one of the things that serves as a wake-up call that heās totally head over heels for her.
but YEAH SORRY THAT WAS LONG ā¦ iāve really thought it out and actually have like a secret fic iāve been writing about her story B-) the tldr is that she is a traveling medic turned bounty hunter, and that she went from seeing vash as her quarry as a bounty to seeing him as the only thing in her world that she would do anything to protect.
