Skeeker kitty is a snugglebug 🥰
Noodle roundup part 1 since, frankly, there are a LOT more snakes in my family now than there was the last time I was active on tumblr. We'll see how many posts it takes me to get through them all.

THAT'S A WRAP FOLKS!!! We're all snaked out!
scrolling twitter today and then coming over here is like walking out of a burning building and then walking into the calm remains of a building that burnt down 5 years ago and has been reclaimed by nature.
reblog to give your mutuals a BLÅHAJ
I'm getting this back up and running since it looks like twitter is heading to the shitter. Actually pretty stoked to be back here! Here's my cats!

Language and why we have stereotypes
Basically it boils down to this: humans depend on language to accomplish tasks, and because of language we can accomplish huge things. However, language is merely a simplification and symbolization of thoughts that cannot truly be expressed. Therefore, we have to agree upon words and terms to maintain social cohesion, even though words mean something different for every individual according to personal experience. This of course means we have agreed upon names for things. We as social creatures base all communication on these names and categories because without them we wouldn’t get very far. Through our compulsive naming and language-ification of reality, we have created a world where stereotypes are the norm.
Jewel in flight (par Nikola Rahme)
Oak Jewel Beetle Eurythyrea quercus (Buprestidae) male. Length: 16 mm. Dead insect prepared for the occasion of this image.
These beetles are at least as beautiful in flight as in “normal” walking position. The dissimilar colours of the abdomen appear only when they open the elytrae. Obviously it is a rare sight, you should be lucky to observe such a beautiful phenomenon. I wanted to reproduce the flying pose showing the amazing abdominal tergums.

Nothing quite like paying buttloads of money to get your car perfect, picking it up from the shop, and having the check engine light come on two miles later. Didn't have a check engine light before, I ain't paying a cent bitches.
