its impossible hearing people talk about the "pedophile elites" online because when they arent making up antisemitic conspiracies about "EEEEEVIL jews controlling the population" theyre severely misinterpreting the actual motivation behind the rich and powerful abusing kids, it's not specifically or even predominantly about an actual attraction to children, it's about exercising their power over an already marginalized and oppressed class. there's a reason black, brown, and poor people are more easily sold into sex and labor trafficking in the first place. the further a distance you put between "the pedophile elites who rape little kids" and the average person who similarly holds structural power over children and teens the further you get from actually protecting kids. sexual abuse happens because people with power think they have a right to the bodies of the people they oppress, and you HAVE to realize everybody has the potential to abuse children because the system we live in not only permits but encourages it. you only think child sexual abuse is an issue unique to the top 1% and Super Special Fucked Up Monsters because you refuse to admit there's no biological difference between you and them, if you can categorize them as Other you can disassociate yourself and others you view as "normal people" from the problem, thus allowing the problem to continue.
