“Wing basics” by Twarda8: http://bit.ly/2SFgeSK
A wing can be quite a confusing thing, so check out this amazing #Tutorial from Twarda8!
i’m gonna drop an art tip here
i think an important thing to learn, especially if you start out with drawing anime, is that faces don’t necessarily have to narrow from top to bottom
i like to think of wide top, wide middle, wide bottom, and rectangle-like as the 4 main face shapes
what you should keep in mind about them:
you’re only halfway done: the jawlines, the width-length ratio, the amount of fat in the cheeks, the intensity or subtlety of the face’s curves are all important components you still have to decide on after choosing the shape itself
none of these shapes are exclusively feminine or masculine, don’t hesitate drawing them on any gender
most people in real life have some variation of the wide middle type
if you are trying to draw real people, getting the shape of their face down is the first step
i’ve seen tutorials say the shape of the face can tell a lot of the character’s personality - you don’t necessarily have to live by that rule. as long as you aren’t unrealistically drastic about their proportions, their face shape determines their inner qualities as much as it would in real life (not at all)
All my Social Medias
Hey look, I’m using all my social medias for art now, so I guess it’s time to link everything here.
Tumblr
The above is a link to my art blog, I ONLY post my art there, so it’s a good place to go if you miss seeing me post my drawings.
Deviantart
This isn’t as well kept up with as Facebook or Tumblr, but I *am* slowly catching it up, I also will be offering adoptables there and custom OC commissions, which won’t be available on my other platforms.
I treat this like another Tumblr tbh, I retweet a lot of things, and post art in-between, but I’m also more talkative on Twitter as well.
*NEW* Pillowfort
Yep, I’m one of those people that spent money to get early access, and I’m loving it. I’ve been posting all my personal art on Pillowfort as I draw it, so if you prefer that over commissions and fanart, it’s the best place to follow me at.
I post literally all my art to my FB page, including screenshot of WIPs. I also keep my most up to date commission prices pinned to the top of the page for those wanting to commission me.
I also have a Plush!Sans Ask Blog and a blog for The Dreamers (my personal comic) if you were looking for those specifically. And, in case you were looking for any art prints I’m selling (which I do in fact have) you can find them on @alainaprana ‘s lovely website Loading Crew Crafts! There’s actually a lot of super cool stuff on there, you can check out this post by Alaina to see what all she’s got going on~
How do you do eyes? I’m having lots of troubles with that and would really appreciate your help
I don’t know which part of drawing eyes you’re struggling with but I hope my explanation is clear enough 😭
Sorry I meant “corneas” not “lenses” sdhjfhhsj but yeah I hope you still get the point!

Hello, I focused on the human anatomy and the clothing in this drawing. And I want to know what mistakes I made both for the clothing and the shape of human body in this drawing, thanks >-
(submitted by @delicatewizardstranger)
A very cool little piece! Her walking motion is pretty spot on, and there’s a good energy to the picture!
I would recommend, though, that you try out the pose in real life when you draw it. ;) For example, the way she’s swinging her arms here is not quite comfortable, and if you tried to walk and swing your arms in opposite directions this high, it would not happen naturally.
For reference, here’s a good walking cycle example!
Another thing to keep in mind is, of course, constructing anatomy before you draw! Keep in mind the basic shapes the body is built out of - don’t just throw down curves and lines without thinking about proportions.
The left thigh of the character (right side to the viewer) seems to be almost the entire length of her leg! But in reality, the leg should be made up of two separate cylinders, each with a seperate curve pattern (unless you’re simplifying it to the extreme.)
Good job!

This is how I used to teach a couple of students how to create vehicles or weird creatures when they had trouble coming up with ideas
Some drawing tips previously posted on twitter. More drawing tips on my patreon. Hope some of these can be helpful.
This probably has been asked before millions of times, but do you have any tips on hands and arms?
Yus!!!! My favorite! ARMS! Hands!!
First, may I interest you in Sycra Yasin’s “How to Draw the Forearm” and other youtube tutorials like it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=894PGlFUr6E
Sycra Yasin is a literal godsend to this earth and I love him to death. If you want comprehensive muscle tutorials, THIS GUY is YOUR GUY.
Second, let me introduce you to George Bridgman:
Studying this kind of structural anatomy is super helpful for learning and simplifying any kind of figure.
I’ve compiled some hand/arm tutorials from both myself and mod goji for some further study:
As for posing the arm with the body, I like to use this simplified form of the arm to create my sketch poses so I know what the overall will look like.
It’s not a direct science, and it is a lot of muscle memory. Knowing how long the arms should be in conjunction with the torso is still a struggle for me. When in doubt, do the pose yourself! See how you look in a mirror :)

The sky was a painting tonight.
This is it. Sky pictures taken at gas stations are my aesthetic.
This is like a dream I had but can’t quite remember
That getting up super early to leave the motel by checkout time and grabbing gas before you hit the highway aesthetic.
Traditional and Contemporary Japanese Culture Collides in Striking Photographs by RK
Tokyo-based photographer RK explores the far reaches of Japan, as well as neighboring Asian countries, shooting images that capture both timeless and of-the-moment scenes. RK often includes signs of life in his landscape images, whether a fisherman casting a line beneath a vibrant Japanese maple tree, or a carefree skateboarder cruising down a paved road with Hokkaido looming in the distance. The photographer also highlights the densely-packed nature of life in Japan, from masses of commuters forming a sea of umbrellas to shop owners surrounded by huge selections of neatly organized inventory.
Oh, hey, here’s the thread I wrote on my twitter! Advice for getting started drawing backgrounds~ :)
for your upcoming art resolutions~

Need to Find Me?
I know Tumblr isn’t meaning to purge blogs the way they are, but I’m not risking it, plus the whole “can’t search posts with links” thing basically negates the entire comic blog.
If something happens to my blog, you can find me at any at the below links:
Deviantart (I’m very inactive on DA, but I do check it daily)
Facebook (I’m semi-active on FB, a lot more then here though, I also post WIPs here too)
Discord: CloureedArt#5674 (DM me and I can invite you to my Discord Server)
TLDR; I don’t trust Tumblr, go to literally any art site and search for CloureedArt/ Cloureed to find me
this just became more relevant, I’m in the process of setting up a pillowfort account now, but Facebook is still the main home for my art.
