To summarize, this blog is about Jevils meeting up from different universes to play a game. If you’ve heard of Dead By Daylight, it’s similar... but much less gory, because this is just meant to be a fun game. Nobody really gets hurt.
Each Jevil has their own alternate, scarier form that they turn into, and each also has their own level in the game. Players are trying to escape, while the monster tries to catch them. Since each level is different, each trap is also different. For example, when a player gets caught, one monster’s level may have the monster put them in a cage with a self-locking lock that takes a while to fully close but, once closed, will NOT open. Another level may have the monster trap players in a sort of sci-fi test tube, the kind that mad scientists make creatures in, that has a countdown to put the right password in before it locks itself shut. As you can probably tell from the description of the traps, players have a limited amount of time to rescue each other. Of course, this is just a game, so nothing happens to the player once they’re permanently trapped. They just sit out for the round... with possibly a surveillance screen in their trap so they can watch everyone else.
Players normally have three things to do to escape, some requiring them to explore the map to find something, and some requiring them to both find something and do something with it. For example, one task may involve collecting pieces of something to unlock something else, while another task may be to find a gate and break off the lock with a rock, with the time it takes to break it depending on how many players are helping... but that last one’s more of a final task thing. Each monster has their own chase theme, but activating it is optional. Some may choose to play it once they see the player when the player hasn’t seen them yet, which would be helpful... or not play it until they’ve snuck up and caught the player, which would just add atmoshpere/tension.
No hurting each other. It doesn’t matter that(mostly) all participants are immortal, some are still sensitive to pain.
This includes the traps. Be creative and design the level however you want, but no hurting the players.
All magic is cancelled during rounds. No flying, no teleporting, no attacks, etc. That would make the game too easy, which would just be boring.
Monsters are allowed to fly if they have wings and are allowed to levitate a small distance off of the ground to appear spoopy.
Feel free to send in a scary version of your Jevil, and remember to at least mention what their level would look like/what the theme is. If you don’t make a level yourself, we can help make one for you.
(ooc: One of the mods is a christian, so don’t put like... upside-down crosses on your spoopy version/the level. Other than that, go crazy, but just don’t put anything blatantly demonic. [Note: Scary designs aren’t necessarily demonic. Horns, wings, and hooves, even all on the same creature, aren’t demonic. Bats and birds have wings. Cows and pigs have hooves. Rams and buffalo have horns. Are any of those demons? So yeah, don’t drag religion into it but make it as scary as you want.])
(ooc: This blog is not for a real game that is actually being made, we’re just having fun and imagining things here. However, if you do intend to make a game out of this, please let us know beforehand.)
