I forgot that periods exist and panicked for about an hour thinking I was dying when it arrived
Sophie Nelisse should have been nominated for an Emmy. Her performance was a standout in season 2. This isn’t to take away from Melanie Lynskey’s nomination, she’s very very good in Yellowjackets. But I don’t know how Sophie Nelisse or any of the younger cast (or Christina Ricci my unhinged queen) weren’t nominated

Confession Time:
When I was 12/13 I had a crush on Clove from the Hunger Games.
My unasked for opinions on Queendom 2, round 1:
This is going to be a long post. As a whole, I thought the performances were pretty underwhelming. I felt that some of them tried too hard to do something high concept or tried to put too much into the performance, and lot of them had kind of shaky vocals or we couldn’t really hear them sing.
I rewatched a few of the Queendom 1 performances and what was so great about them is that they felt easy, and the groups seemed confident in their abilities. Take Mamamoo for example, their opening performance was one of my favourites. They had a big opening, and followed it up with confident vocals. They played to the audience and they looked like they had a lot of fun. They included the props towards the end for a big finish, and it was a good cohesive performance. Gidle as well, they picked a concept that fit the song, they had a clean dance break that fit the performance and they didn’t let the back up dancers outshine them. In general, they didn’t try too hard to stand out and performed to the audience.
Back to Queendom 2, the only performance that I felt was on the same level as any of the Queendom 1 round 1 performances was Hyolin. She deserved that first place. Girlie served vocals, dance and charisma. She made it look easy. She picked a theme that fit the song and it felt like a party. She played to the audience and she slayed. And I’ve never listened to a Hyolin song before, so you know I’m not biased towards her.
Viviz did okay. I liked the concept, though I would have liked it more if they somehow went from a GFriend song to a viviz song to signify moving on. I don’t think the props added anything. Upon first watch, I was moved by the nostalgia. Watching it again, all three of those girls were kind of lacking in energy. Maybe they were relying on their song choices? Idk. It was just a bit forgettable imo.
Kep1er definitely felt like they were trying too hard. The concept was kind of basic but equally, they packed a lot into the performance. I think they were so eager to prove themselves that they kind of tried to fit too much into one performance but didn’t really do anything at the same time, if that makes any sense? Like, they went from sharp and moody to cutesy and sweet without any indication in the music. They tried to use the entire stage, but it felt like they felt like they had to use every single inch of the stage when it wasn’t necessary? I think their inexperience in performing on large stages was pretty clear. Yujin was great though, her years of experience are clear in performances like these.
WJSN really disappointed me. Their vocals were shaky, at best, and they did seem off. Obviously, the prop breaking and the stage being slippy threw them off. But we, as the audience, shouldn’t be able to tell that something went wrong and I think we could tell that something was off. I didn’t really get the concept. I think they should have finished in a lower rank than they did. They knew they didn’t do well though. Even if they didn’t show their post performance break-down (which I hate when they show that), they were very sheepish in the self-evaluation and they seemed genuinely shocked to have placed so high.
Brave Girls are another group that tried to do too much and ended up being style over substance. The props were totally unnecessary. The drums at the start could have been great if they were all playing them as an introduction, then the lights could have gone down and they appear at the front of the stage. That would iconic. But the drums, and then the sticks, and then the fabric with the walk, walk, pose, it was doing too much and saying so little. They had all these props and didn’t really do anything with them. Not all performances need a dance break, theirs went on a bit long. But I did like the transition into rollin. I appreciate them singing live, and the vocals were fine overall but I thought the lead singer was a bit shouty. The one with the turquoise mic though had great stage presence, I liked her. If they had a stronger stage presence as a whole and more cohesive props, it could have been really good. I don’t know Brave Girls, but I’m excited to see what else they bring and I think they should have placed higher, maybe third?
Loona were struggling. It was clear that a lot of them had not fully recovered from covid. Given that half of them seemed to still be ill (they all looked exhausted) they did pretty well! Kudos to them. But when you’re accustomed to energetic, effortless performances from Loona, it’s a bit disappointing to see them struggle. Not only their energy, but their vocals suffered too. Even Jinsoul, who I think is usually the most stable live, was struggling to keep up vocally. Having said that, if they were healthy, and if they managed the vocals, this performance could have been amazing, rivalling Hyolin and even some of the best of Queendom 1. It’s a shame covid took them out like that. I’m excited to see what they bring when they aren’t sick.
To summarise, I found round 1 disappointing, the exception being Hyolin who was fantastic. I hope they all bring more energy and confidence to round 2 and don’t keep on trying too hard to re-invent the wheel.
Imagine finding out that it’s national coming out day from a fucking Uber Eats ad
You know what, although I was rooting for Bimini, I’m really glad Lawrence won.
I have to be honest, I was disappointed in Bimini’s performance in the finale. Their lipsync was off in the main performance, I was distracted by their dodgy knickers in her finale look and I didn’t vibe with the ‘I’m still standing’ lipsync, it just didn’t do it for me. Despite that, I was really rooting for Bimini to win because I love them.
Tayce on the other hand completely murdered this week’s performance and if it was just a regular challenge she would have won hands down.
But, I am glad Lawrence won. He dominated the first half of the competition, was relatively consistent, only lipsynced once and I loved his looks in both the challenge and runway. I fucking loved his performance look. I love his message, I love that a big lass has finally won. I am genuinely happy that he won.
So yes, if you ignore this week, Bimini was robbed. But, Bimini underperformed this week and I think Lawrence really deserved the win.

I think my french exchange partner knew that I liked girls before I did.
While I was in France, she came into the room I was in. I was chilling on the bed, probably reading brittanna fanfiction, and she sat on the other side of the room and was shaving her legs.
We were chatting, then all of a sudden she asked,
“Why don’t you talk to boys?”
And I was like, oh I guess I’m just shy and I feel awkward around boys (which is true). And she was like “sure... if you say so...”
Looking back on it, I think she expected me to come out to her or something.
Two years later I realised I was bi.
So Mathilde, if you’re out there, you were right.
I just saw someone on tinder with the profile:
“Road work ahead. Yeah, I sure hope OURS does”
Why would you take a vine so iconic, so holy and ruin it? Why?
Reminder that Stonewall wasn’t about marriage equality. Stonewall was about police brutality. It was about systemic abuse and subordination. Stonewall was spearheaded by black trans women. As we celebrate Pride 2020, within the context of the Black Lives Matter riots, it’s imperative that we remember that.
Riots in protest of police brutality are the reason that we have more rights today. Do not forget your roots.
You can’t celebrate Pride while simultaneously condemning the Black Lives Matter riots and protests that are happening right now. Know your history.
some of the best tweets from the last few days
I am drunk and I want to tell a story.
Okay, so, I went to a gay club a couple of weeks ago and pulled this girl. She wasn’t the most attractive, but she was very interested in me and I am also not the most attractive and I also had beer goggles on, ya feel? Anyway, I pulled and at the end of the night she said she was looking for w date, not a hook up and I was like sure whatever let’s go on a date, it’ll be chill. We arranged it that night (which I guess is kinda rogue) and then I went home alone lol.
A few days later, we went on a date. We were meant to go for a walk or something but I couldn’t be arsed and I wasn’t feeling it so I suggested we went for lunch instead. I realised she wasn’t as cute as drunk me thought she was, but I thought the personality is much more important. She wasn’t super happy about not going for a walk, but it was lunchtime and I’m a hungry gal so we went to a restaurant and had food. Although the place I live is small, it has lots of local restaurants and cafes, yet she insisted that we went to a certain place because she was picky and didn’t like trying new places. I, however, love trying new foods and new restaurants so I thought, maybe not the best idea? But I digress.
She was weird. I’m not talking a little bit odd, I’m a but odd, but she was fully weird and perhaps a little bit of a psycho? Like, I don’t mean that in a mysogynistic way. She told me she pretends to be a morning person to annoy people and like, that is not the kinda person I want in my life. I highkey did not vibe with her in the slightest. She basically talked at me for two fucking hours. I was so desperate to leave, I payed for her so we wouldn’t have to spend time splitting the bill. I think she got the wrong idea from that but whatever. Anyway, she tried to arrange a second date with me but I lied and said I was busy and told her to just message me. She didn’t. But, several days later, she called me at like 2 am, but I was passed out drunk in my bed having just thrown up in an Uber, a story got another time.
And that brings us to tonight.
I went out to the gay club again for a wee boogie. Fully not looking to pull, I was pretty sober and seriously just wanting a boogie to some fun, cheesy tunes. And I saw the girl. And pretended I didn’t see her. I pretended not to see her for two hours. She lowkey followed me around the club, not getting close enough to interact, but I could feel her watching the entire time. It was quite uncomfortable.
So yeah, I pulled a girl, went on a date with her, realised that she may have been a little bit of a psycho, and then avoided her in a tiny club where she was following me around for two hours. Why am I like this?

Remus would try for a mustache around James’ wedding. The results would be hilarious.
Peter’s soul colors would be orange, mustard, and brown. He would thrive in sweaters, mutton chops, and feathered hair.
who could out sweater Peter? The answer is of course REMUS LUPIN who would live it up in chartreuse and oatmeal and burnt umber with not only a cardigan but a secret turtleneck.
Note the not successful porn stache. Don’t be afraid! James Potter is here in bright red, dark brown, and navy blue! 10/10 the wide legged lapel boy. He’s the Tommy Hilfiger of plunging necklines and high waisted (probably checked) pants.
And Sirius Black, the boy in punk. Wearing basic white, blacks, blue jeans, he’s the most “normal” but likely over studded, over plaid, and stick straight gelled hair. Forget these cresting bangs. It’s fohawk or death.
even Lily Evans is not exempt. She’s probably okay in bright orange, baby blues, and bright patterns of pink/purple. She’ll wear jumpers and tall socks and trailing headbands and too much eyeshadow.
yo any fan artists please jump in k love you my contribution for the world today is done bye
I gave it a shot! It’s a bit of a tough look for Remus but… voila!
