G'day! Call me Eva or Em, I've made this blog to dump photos and ramble about ecology! I'm no professional photographer and am still learning so they won't be the crispiest photos you've seen, but I'm trying my best. :)
I'm an invertebrate ecologist from Australia working with threatened native invertebrates including the Giant Gippsland Earthworm (Megascolides australis) and various burrowing crayfishes (Engaeus sp.); I'm also the Honorary Editor for the Entomological Society of Victoria.
I love and take interest in all invertebrates, my favourites being velvet worms, springtails, tardigrades and velvet mites. I'm a big ecology nut and there is no organism that I don't take at least some interest in! I'm getting into birding and have a big love for freshwater fish - having been an aquarist for 10 years has given me a passion for freshwater aquatic ecology.
Additionally, I was a little geology nerd as a kid so you might see some photos of minerals from my collection here and there.
PHOTO USE
All photos on this blog unless specified have been taken by myself. You will see a few taken by my girlfriend Brin also - these are marked, and the below guidelines on personal and commercial use do not apply as they are not my photos.
Personal Use & Referencing If you want to use any of my photos for art referencing or non-profit means such as in assessments/NGO websites/etc, please feel free! I don't require credit for personal use my photos, but if you want to, just pop my name (Em Crick) alongside it.
Commercial Please don't use any photos for profit without permission. This does NOT include using photos for referencing when making merchandise, that is generally ok and you don’t need to credit if you draw it, HOWEVER please just check in first if doing so as sometimes I use my own photos to make art merch so wouldn't want to double up.
Do not, under ANY circumstances, use my photos and images for any form of generative a/i. I will hunt you down without mercy.
Enjoy! :)
