also let me be clear: its not the fact that the killed glenn…everyone knows this is how glenn dies in the comics… its was everything else about it…. its the cheap ass season finale cliffhanger where the emotional impact is hugely delayed, its the fake out gimmicks, the value of shock over storytelling, its the unnecessary excessive violence… the gore for gore’s sake, its the disrespect of the audience, its the focus on rick’s pain instead of the the women’s…. there was a way to tell this story and glenns death in an emotionally compelling way that respects the audience and they chose not to do that for the sake of shock and sky high ratings

glenn rhee deserved one of those poetic, cosmetic deaths (see: saving private ryan or basically any man dying heroically in a film, they don’t fuck up his face, he gets some other sort of mortal wound). instead it was produced for shock value. like i get it, it’s the walking dead. i get this is how he went out in the comics. but come on. it was gratuitous in the least. but also yet another example of fridging a character of color to further the arc of a cis, white, man. 

like gdi. if you were going to kill glenn off just let him go out like the knight in shining armor that he was jesus christ.
