Aviary Update

Hey guys! I want to apologize for the massive delay on responses to adoption scenarios and questions. Real life hit the three of us very hard. With just me, I had holiday drama, covid, family drama, and just a few weeks ago my bird Thor, the adorable little parakeet who inspired the creation of the Birbitties, died. It’s been tough dealing with everything, but we will soon be getting things back up and running. Lady and her Boys will be returning from visiting Calypso and the story will start up again along with adoptions and answers!

Do we need to ask for match-up suggestions before askin for a adoption scenario if we already know what birbitties we wanna adopt?

Nah, if you already know what you want, you can just go ahead and ask for a scenario. Just let us know any details you want Lady to include, like what behavior would catch your eye or what you look like or want to be called.

Hoi yes I have a question: is weather a factor when adopting a bird bitty, should rooms be a certain temp for some birds?

Birbitty eggs can be sensitive to temperatures, but grown birbitties can survive basically any environment that humans can so long as they have climate-appropriate clothes.

If you mean preference instead of survivability, though...Nightwings like to bundle up in their sleep, so colder temperatures are preferred while Vogues like showing off their plumage and physiques whenever possible, so they’ll prefer warmer weather.

Okay, wait, what? This is the first I've heard about bitties having "soul ties" with their adopters, except for the one type at Vex's shop. What exactly does that mean? I'll be honest, the wording is sort of scary to me. I don't want anyone else messing with my soul!

Don’t worry, nobody’s gonna mess with your SOUL (nobody here, at least...). Birbitties tend to imprint on their caretakers/owners/human companion/whatever you want to be to your bitty the way baby birds will imprint on the first thing they see after hatching. Being bitties, they’re very aware of and sensitive to your SOUL, but they won’t do anything to change it or their own.

The only thing it does is develop a strong emotional connection quickly and will usually cause the birbitty to trust you regardless of outside factors because they can feel your SOUL and how trustworthy you would be to them.

How will other birds react to thunder and rain? As I began to do some online schooling as a high school student. Thunder came in and which scared Pattern and as for the rain, he seem to enjoy it. And as for Danceful, he was like ‘meh’ and didn’t bother about the rain and thunders but he did calm down Pattern.

Elvises and Dawnwings can get skittish (the sweet little worryworts~), but they’ll calm down with some snuggles once they’re sure everyone is safe.

Fell-types are...not fans of things they can’t control or intimidate. Especially when it limits their ability to fly off if they need to. They’ll try to hide their nerves behind bravado, though.

I have a question, for someone who is kind of afraid of birds, but really wants to practice drawing wings and coloring things, would it be ok to come by and see if any of the milder birbitties would be ok with being sketched?

Of course you can come and draw the burbs, Lucky for you, you don’t even have to enter the aviary to observe them. Most will be more than happy to show off their feathers to you!

How would the birbitties react to rain? And how would the birbitties react to different holidays like Halloween and Christmas?

Actually most of the birbs love the rain!

Be at cuddling up in their nest and watching it or rolling around in a puddle, -chuckles-

What if you had someone to become a expert on duskwings, they might be able to help with training the duskwing adopters on how to properly take care of their duskwing?

I saw something mention a Duskwing, but lost it. Could you explain what it is please?

Duskwings are birbitties that are inspired by and take after the DustTale AU. We currently only have one in our custody, but these birbitties form when an egg forms twin souls that then...uh...merge--to put it kindly--prior to hatching. So there will definitely be more, but they are not currently available for adoption considering they’re not the most...stable.

How long can the eggs be left unattended by their parents? what about if there's no/little other magical presences around?

How long they can be left unattended all depends on the amount of ambient magic around them. Some eggs don’t have parents at all! But, uh, if there isn’t any magic around at all, then those eggs probably won’t form any bitties.

Birbitties are curious--and sometimes stubborn--creatures, so it’s totally possible.

Yeah...magic can be corrupted as the eggs form and even after that point incidents can happen within the egg.

Did you know that there's a bird that creates fancy nests for the females and decorate them with pretty things? Maybe those could be the UnderLust bitties!

Uhhh, we kind of already have our hands full with the birbitties Fic already brought over here. But I guess if another AU is in danger--*garbled speech from the intercom on Ace’s desk*--oh, uh, Wingdings says that the magic from all the new breeds being migrated over is still settling, so we don’t really know if any others will form, yet.
