2009 saw the release of Sonic & The Black Knight on the Wii, along with the first Winter Olympic games. Sonic 1 released on iPhone, Sonic 3 & Knuckles released on Xbox Live Arcade, and Archie’s comics expanded to a second monthly issue with Sonic Universe!

In the Ocean View track from ‘Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed’, you rush around a giant Octopus robot. Using a camera hack, we can have a better look at it from above.

2008 saw the release of Sonic Unleashed across HD and SD platforms, a Sonic Riders sequel for PS2 and Wii, Sonic Chronicles hitting the DS, and SEGA Superstars Tennis across everything. Sonic also made his debut in the Super Smash Bros. series with Brawl!

Unseen Character NPCs for Egg Carrier

At several points in the game, the game uses characters to show you where cutscene triggers are. These are the same object as the character NPCs you can interact with (Big in Station Square etc.), just without any text since you're not supposed to be able to walk up to them.

For Sonic and Tails, NPCs of Amy and Eggman spawn when the flag for clearing Sky Deck is enabled, but since the cutscene they're meant to accompany begins as soon as you enter the area they can't be seen normally.

Here's some characters of the npc variety along with a few OCs. Mostly Sonic Jam's 'Man of the Year', and Archie's 'Champions' arc in this batch, with a few pulls from other works.

Nondi, Mas and Maple are the OCs here. And 'npc' chars aside from Hodgepodge, Joe, and Ro-becca were nameless prior (afaik).

2007 saw Sonic head to the Wii with Sonic & The Secret Rings, team up with Mario at the Olympics, and Sonic Team made a new NiGHTS game! DS and PSP got Sonic Rush Adventure and Rivals, while Sonic would also appear digitally on the iPod Touch and Xbox Live Arcade.

The Queen was the impetus to draw these. She had a more humanoid face than the everyone else in Mertopia, and this was me exploring an idea for why that is (This is a G.Parents/Parents/Kid kind of deal here).

Shadow got his own game in 2005 & Blaze The Cat made her debut in Sonic Rush for the DS! Sonic Gems Collection allowed people to replay Sonic R, CD and Fighters, and Archie’s Sonic X comic hit shelves! Sonic Team also released Puyo Puyo Fever 2 & Rub Rabbits in Japan.
