Burning Vision
”I sat cozy in my nest as I gave you the fire that set me aflame. Engulfed in heat I watched as embers of me danced across your beautiful face. You stood there frozen in fear. You stood there and watched me burn with two buckets of water gripped in each hand. I continued to fade until there was no more. But of the ashes emerged anew. Shifting clumsily I leaped off the edge of the forest. I was falling from the cliffs unafraid of the violent water rushing beneath. Because soon I was airborne. Instinctive and confidently in route. I flew with gusts of wind swirling around my wings, illuminating my majestic glow. It was only then did I realize, the divine power I inherently possessed. The crisp taste of freedom stained my lips. *ERNT! ERNT! ERNT!* I switched off my alarm and lay still before climbing out of bed to get ready for work once more, still tasting freedom for dreams to come.”
