Start One, Finish One (Ideally the Same One)
About two or three years ago I started a blanket for a friend of mine. (Don’t judge me! We’ve all done it! We all have crafter’s ADD.) This blanket, actually, which is simple and lovely.
However, I’ve learned an important lesson about patience, and finishing what I start (especially where crochet is concerned). Because I spent such long periods of time not working on it, my technique—and apparently my ability to follow pattern directions—varied, so now the squares just look horrible when put all together. (Please excuse the lack of blocking.)
Some are backwards, some have horrible seams, and most are more angular than circular. So here I am, years after it should have been finished in the first place, and it’s not even halfway there. It’s also being scrapped and restarted.
So tip for beginning crocheters (especially those to whom the craft comes easily): Slow down. And don’t let yourself get too ADD. Finish what you start, and don’t start other things until it’s done. Trust me. It’s worth it.
Holy crap gorgeous. *:o

Best yarn bomb EVER.
I made one like this at some point, and it wasn't even close to this pretty. This technique is so much better.

Every time.
I LOVE Sarah C. Andersen comics. The original last two panels are about books, which I loved, but this really hits home. So much truth. :P
