Liz: Next time we're going to a club outside of Rockford.

Liz: That DJ was shit the other night. I swear he kept playing remixes of the same three songs over and over.

Cody: Didn't keep you off the dance floor though. I thought I was gonna have to drag you outta there at the end of the night.

Cody: I'm down for a new spot though. Can't say I've checked out any other clubs lately but do you know of a good one?

“Me either.” Addie knew that her and Cody were pretty much in the same boat when it came to money, it made talking about all of it easier and there was never any judgement about it. “Come on.” Addie pushed the door open to the garage and lead the way. “This mostly. We were really busy after the crash on Halloween and then the weather changed and the holidays I feel like i’ve practically lived here.” 

Cody followed her into the garage, careful not to get in the way of anything going on in the work space. “Busy is good, right? It sucks when you just want to chill or whatever but I’ll take busy over not any day,” he added. With the new year approaching, he was already anticipating the longer hours due to everyone making their fitness resolutions but he didn’t mind the surge.

“First off I do not snore, that’s offensive.” Macy grinned, “Yeah please do. If we just sit in complete silence for a few movies then I definitely will fall asleep.” 

“How do you know for sure?” he asked, raising a brow in her direction. His words were in jest but he wanted to prompt her to think about it. “Alright, I will,” he chuckled. “I’ve seen these a hundred times so it’s not a big deal if we talk. Unless you’re invested in them.”

“Oh, maybe not but I’ve been here long enough to know that I at least need a decent fucking drink before I wind up making an ass shaped imprint on this couch.” Liz laughed, jumping on her heels to get up from her spot. “Oh, to the clubs my friend. And then we follow where ever the night takes us.” She pulled her bag over the shoulder before stealing one last gummy before making a bee line out the front door.

Though he was unaware of it, Cody was starting to feel a slight buzz from the gummies as evident by the fact that he stared at the couch for a few moments wondering what such an imprint would look like. “Wouldn’t be the worst thing this couch has seen,” he concluded with a shrug before turning to follow her out the door. “What’s your go-to drink?”

Lily: Sometimes they do! It's a lot of 15 mins of fame, but it's just fun to watch anyways and there are really really cute moments.

Cody: Nah that's fake news.

Cody: Idk. It feels fake to me. Then again I don't watch it so who am I to judge?

“No! No I’m good Im’ good.” Macy sat up a little, making sure that she didn’t accidentally fall asleep. “I’m not trying to I’m just saying I’m all cozy. let’s go.” 

“You sure I’m not gonna hear you snoring in ten minutes?” he jested. “Nah, cozy is good. I am gonna keep checking on you though.”

“Can you imagine living such a luxurious life?” Addie had scraped her car together with all of her savings and the only reason that it ran at all was because she had the ability to fix it herself and replace parts. “Alright well…  that’s not good.” She laughed, “No! No don’t leave, come into the back with me. Keep me company. I haven’t seen you forever anyway.” 

“No,” he replied bluntly with a shake of his head. Even though he was still more or less living paycheck to paycheck, Cody was living a much better life than he was a few years ago. He had a solid roof over his head and never had to worry about his next meal. It may have sounded like basic needs to others but for him it was a major upgrade. “Okay, if you insist,” he jested, his grin returning to his features. “What have you been up to anyway?”
