I can't believe I'm turning 40 in a few weeks. I get annoyed with people in their 20s who use formal language to talk to me. I'm your age! Use "du" when you talk to me, "sie" is for my mum!
I mean I usually go to bed at ten, and I've noticed my tolerance for alcohol is going down, but other than that? I have no kids, no career and I share a building with my mum. I'm basically a teenager.

I tried checking what my car would insure for, but the model (and its identical siblings from other manufacturers) are not available in the US. I guess they are too small.
Why is car insurance so expensive in the US? It could also be that it's extremely cheap in Germany, but I think at least in the EU is pretty close.
I pay €230/year for my car, which is small and slow, which makes insurance pretty cheap. My Car before that was a little bigger and a faster, and it was €350. This for "Teilkasko", which apparently translates to "partial comprehensive insurance". In broad terms that means that in an accident my insurance will cover damages to the other involved party, but not mine. It also covers broken windows, thefts/break-ins, natural disasters and accidents involving animals. My deductible is €300. "Vollkasko", which covers everything would've been €450ish. I've been driving for a bit over 20 years, accident free. I'm guessing the fact that insurance is mandatory in Germany heavily plays into the cost. You cannot register a car without insurance.
