“Debt?” Kenny shook his head. “Nah, dude, don’t think of it like a debt. We’re just a couple of kids having lunch, alright?”
He hated the word debt. It reminded him of trash, Pabst Blue Ribbon, cracked windows and crying children; it reminded him of neglect and dirt, wrapped in a pretty package of endless poverty that he couldn’t fix.
He smiled at Tweek, but it was quiet, a little muted from before.
“After school sounds good. See you at the flagpole after the last bell?”
Kenny waited for Tweek’s answer, knowing that as soon as he sent Tweek on his way he’d head straight to Stark’s Pond and light up a fat J.
If it was not that case, would it mean they’re friends? There was a possibility, then there was not. Their dynamics, if taken a look from a third point of view, was -- would never be -- the most compatible. Or so Tweek thinks, he finds it that way as he hadn’t had much chance to relish in the feel of friendship; everyone was either a miss or bail (with the exception of Craig, but he’s a different story).
He would notice the change in Kenny’s smile, but he does not, instead he spends his time pondering whether or not there was a string of hope for friendship between him and the other. Tweek only realises Kenny’s smile is softer, but he does not know he had triggered the boy’s hidden sadness behind the twinkles.
“Ah, yeah.” He responds simply, no clue on how to carry on the conversation. Their time was up soon, and Tweek had to leave for class before he gets caught for loitering around the hallways. “I’ll, er, see you around?”

“Trust me, you don’t wanna be my friend– I’m a huge asshole,” spoke the teen. He knew how he could be and, honestly, he couldn’t put the blonde through that. It was one thing when it involved someone just as insensitive as himself, but when people who really didn’t deserve to be treated like shit got involved Kyle immediately bailed. He refused to do that to Tweek.
“Why don’t you be friends with someone NICE like Butters or that Gary guy? I’m sure they’d make better companions than me,” he shrugged it off, hoping that would be the end of it.
Oh, so he did say it vocally. Least Kyle didn’t take it crudely, but the pessimistic approach to this had only strengthen Tweek’s desire in being his pal. As weird as it may be, the more things pushed him away the more he craves it -- does that make him a masochist?
“Now, from what I hear, you--you don’t sound that bad of a, hgrh, person.”
Butters and Gary don’t sound like a bad option, but what’s wrong befriending an asshole? Tweek doesn’t have to attach himself with like minded people all the time.
“I mean, I--I think you’re cool.” The boy gave the sentence he blurted out another thought, realising how it can be taken the wrong way. “Not like I, uh, mm, want to be your friend j-just because I think you’re cool or anything!”

As soon as Craig opens the door to the store, he is surrounded by the scent of the roasted coffee that’s made this little store so popular. As a kid, he didn’t really care much for the beverage, but ever since he started hanging out with dating Tweek, he’s grown to acquire a taste for it. He always takes it black, of course, because anything with cream or sugar is obviously for girls.
A quick glance around the store tells him that nobody’s in line, that most customers already have their drinks…and that his spot, one of the chairs up by the counter, is currently being taken over by a girl a few years younger than him.
He glares her down and pormptly she avoids his gaze, gathering her school stuff and cup and scurrying away. All of this done behind the blond’s back- although honestly, he thinks Tweek is already more than aware of how much of an asshole he can be. Still, along the line, he’s been a teensy bit more careful with his displays of aggression around his boyfriend.
He parks his butt up on the chair and waits for the blond to acknowledge his presence, with the intention of staring at the back of his boyfriend’s head until he turns around. And stare he did, so much so that his boyfriend notices, and he doesn’t really stop for a few good seconds even after the fact.
“I dunno…do you want me to? As for the order, I’ll have the usual. Black, to go.” He sighs, attention drifting back to the other’s blond strands. “Your hair’s in tangles again. Is your shift ending?“
Tweek nods his head, acknowledgement to what Craig wants. “You know, switching options once in awhile is... refreshing.” he regrets the unnecessary commentary, as he understands the other’s motto in life is to have it nice and boring. But hey, life’s a rollercoaster and doesn’t always go as planned. “How about adding soy milk, it doesn’t taste too bad.”
He’d add in a one liner joke, like ‘go vegan or go home’, because he could and he is tempted to, but pressuring Craig isn’t the best thing to do. Tweek won’t want the exact thing happening to him, so why should he push it on another?
He plants his hand on top his hair. There isn’t much of a queue behind his boyfriend, to be exact, there isn’t even anyone at his back. The blond supposes he can have a small chit chat, just for awhile. “I--I don’t really have much time to, mmm, comb my hair.” It’s unmistakable that Tweek was lying, by the way he hesitates and stammers. He’d be a lucky man if his boyfriend took it as another one of his loopy behaviours.
“Anyway,” quickly swapping subjects as he preps the java, “my shift ends in fifteen minutes. You can wait for me, right?”
And right after he’s done brewing, he gives Craig the ‘so-do-you-want-the-soy-milk’ look.
craig tucker do you have a boyfriend
{ @nanopianos }
W-well, do you?
other aesthetics i dig are:
roadside diners and waitresses who are almost too friendly, serving waffles with the kind of syrup that stings your tongue a bit from the sweetness
gas stations at night
empty parking lots/empty highways in the middle of the day when there’s no reason for them to be so lonely
the kind of mood the song “sleepwalk” by santo and johnny gives you
train tracks that haven’t seen a train in years
bars that smell of musk and desperately need a few new light bulbs, old band posters are pealing off the brick walls. a jukebox in the corner coughs out oldies
pawn shops with an unnatural amount of dolls for sale

While the thought is nice, Clyde doesn’t really drink coffee. A cold bottle of Vitaminwater is more his style but he chooses not to say anything about it. He could already tell Tweek is trying to find some way to pay him back even though the jock highly believes that he doesn’t necessarily have to. But hey, if it sets the blond’s mind at ease, then what the hell? It’s better than having him freak out over how to repay his generosity.
At the mention of their teacher though, Clyde releases a sigh of his own. Yeah, this particular teacher doesn’t even like him. That old man just loves to point out how much of a bunch of airheads most football players are.
His annoyed thoughts soon came to a halt upon hearing Tweek’s question. “Huh? Oh, well…” He runs his digits lazily through his messy chestnut-hued hair. “…my hair wouldn’t go the way I wanted it to earlier so I spent most of the morning in front of the mirror. Say, since we’ll just basically get humiliated in front of the whole class, whaddya say we just ditch this one and loiter around somewhere?”
Since Craig and Tweek are technically the “it” couple in school– if they even consider themselves as such– then Clyde knows that he should might as well try to get to know the blond more. Better late than never. Plus, hanging out with Tweek will probably have those freaking activists finally leave him alone and stop accusing him of being a homophobe.
Tweek had a notion to ditch class beforehand, he wasn’t one for the screeching the teacher supplies. How his educator manages to howl at everyone with gusto the blond doesn’t want to pry into, and he isn’t ready to find out today either.
He bobs his head up and down, demonstrating how strongly he agrees with Clyde’s perilous plans. If we do get caught for example, Tweek wonders, would he be taken into custody? The boy would freak out, undoubtedly, but he’ll set aside any stress of it for later.
How for long would they skip anyway? Till recess? Or only until the teacher is done with his period?
“Hng, where do you, er, plan to go then?” Tweek questions, hadn’t a clue for a place to visit. Normally he’d take a trip to his quiet spot near the staircase at the school’s far corner; the place fills him up with a warm, soothing feeling. With the brunet though, the guy is a different person -- would he have a preference to somewhere enveloped with sound? A place to fit in with everyone else?
So he wonders, what type of people do Craig hang around with? With a mix of curiousity and interest, Tweek’s instantly determined to find out, starting with Clyde.

It was kind of hilarious to watch Tweek’s (over)reaction to Kenny’s tease. Kenny had to stifle his chuckle with one gloved hand as he watched Tweek nearly self-destruct with embarrassment.
He could kind of see why Cartman picked on Butters all the time…and wow, that was not a healthy line of thought.
“Cool.” Kenny definitely wasn’t one to turn down a free meal, especially now that he was slowly but surely running out of cash from his paycheck a week before. A ray of pain sliced through his thoughts – his migraine refused to be forgotten for long.
Kenny winced. Caffeine would help. “As long as there’s coffee there.”
“If it pays off the de--debt I owe you,” Tweek sparks a smile, solaced. He’s glad that it didn’t take too much to clear off the tally -- if this was a case with Cartman he’d properly become a servant or something of the sort.
It’s strange how even though those two had been in the same gang, their reaction to a coffee spill would be, Tweek thinks, nothing of the same. Usually birds of a feather flock together.
“You know me, urk, I’d never hang at places without c-coffee.” The smile remains there, but it’s more relaxed and softer than previously. “Where do we, where do we meet? After school, r-right?”

“Guess we’re not so different afterall,” he mused, realizing right away that he had struck the same cord that Tweek had for him. Both were questioned about friends they didn’t have and while they each responded differently, a similar feeling was sure to be shared between them.
Regardless of the whereabouts and explanations of the significant lack of relationships. “Right. Well, this conversation has certainly taken a turn for the worse, yeah?” he mumbled, trying to brush of the unwanted feeling of empathy.
“It-- It isn’t too bad, well, at least once you’re used to -- ngh -- it.” Maybe the only reason Tweek has gotten accustomed to the feeling of loneliness was since he had been living it. Kyle was different, the boy had friends during a stage in his life, it wouldn’t be startling if he doesn’t get used to it. God, it sorta made the blond jealous how the other teen had friends with him for sometime. Maybe even to a point of wanting to switch lives -- he’d put up the torments by Cartman to have a couple of pals by him.
“Hah, I honestly wouldn’t mind being friends with you.”
Did Tweek truthfully say that out loud? No, no, no. That must not be the case, he’s probably hearing his thoughts from a third party. Who would say something so embarrassing like that? Yet it sorta unnerves him, would Kyle take this poorly?
