fun fact! this fic wasnt supposed to be posted until the weekend! i was so lost in the madness that was putting fucking footnotes in my fucking fic that i posted it on fucking accident. anyway!
Updates will be on Saturday/Sunday.
(hopefully, every week until i run out of prewritten chapters and then only god will know when i update)
hello! its been so fucking long. im so sorry for going absolutely radio silent. its just that well. i dropped out, started working, stopped working, starting working again, stopped and then finally started working again! i work retail now :/ im also trying to get back into school which is gonna be so much fun! (kill me now)
anyway! all of this bullshit just to let those of you who follow for Sweet Tenor of Eden's Grace, that i'm in the process of editing the fic! so if u see a notification, sorry :[ no update—but! u will be able to go back and re-read it and see what ive changed/improved!
i'll post on here after i update a chapter!
and really, sorry for just disappearing like that! i think about you and this fic every day, and im not even joking.
ENOUGH. enough with this fuck ass depressive state. i need to fucking write and post. its not even like, it doesnt even hurt anymore. im just really annoyed.
do u think that when sidious told vader that the rebel boy who has became a serious threat was, without a doubt, the offspring of anakin skywalker, he for a second felt hope? not even a full second. just a single moment.
“He’s just a boy. Obi-Wan can no longer help him.” please don’t command me to hurt him. please leave him alone please please don’t hurt my son. “If he could be turned, he would become a powerful ally.” i need to save him. he needs to live. i need to save my son.
u gotta be infected with a certain type of hubris to think u can defeat a mandalorian in their own home turf. like, baby, this is it. what we’re doing is them. and u think u can win??? this truly is the type of greed they talk about in the bible.

Summary:
Anakin had always yearned for connection, a permanent tie that nothing could break, not fate, or death, not even his hands. Amid his desperation, with blood on his lips and stars in his eyes, he makes a wish that breaks him and remakes the entire galaxy all in one single, ragged breath.
... as his Mother had once done long ago and whispered the secret spell to surviving, that; no matter what, it will pass.
another one bc i have such strong feelings about the sibling relationship between ani n soka. this snippet is considerably shorter than the first one, but just like the first one gives away absolutely nothing about the actual plot of this fic, i would go as far as to say that both hints have been rather misleading, so... watch out!
———
There was a war.
The Jedi were at war, and Anakin had a Padawan.
She shone brightly in the Force, she glimmered whenever his eyes fell on her; there was something truly magical about Ahsoka Tano, beyond her presence. As an individual, she was what goodness was born from, there was no wrong she could do, no matter how harmful such thinking was, it felt undoubtedly true. Anakin prayed his thanks to those who came before him. To those who could no longer lay eyes on her as she grew, and, on his hands and knees, forehead to the ground, to her parents.
(Of Mine, he would whisper in the dirt, as she was once Yours.)
He found it both difficult and incredibly easy to teach Ahsoka; she soaked up her lessons like a sponge, asked her questions, and asked for clarification when she felt she needed it. No amount of losses during their sparing could deter her from succeeding, from trying again and again until she was triumphant.
Certainly, there was anger inside of her, it burned in low embers. As there was in most sentient.
Yet, it never roared to life in her chest like it often did in Anakin's, and she never rushed to tamp it down, almost violently, like Obi-Wan. No, Ahsoka understood when to quell it and when to let it burn just a little brighter, just enough to make her body warm but never burn.
That wasn't a lesson Anakin had taught her, he didn't think it was one he was capable of teaching her.
So instead, he taught her how to care. Taught her how to be good beyond the Jedi's standards, how to be good in a way that the sentients outside of the Temple and outside of the Core understood and appreciated, and needed.
Anakin made sure she knew how to process the grief and the fear and the horror that war wrought, even if he struggled with it himself. Only one of them should be submerged; it was his duty to keep her afloat. He let the girl cling to him as she cried, offered his arms, and held her. Not only when she needed it, but also when he found himself needing air. Seeking comfort isn't a weakness, he would whisper as through his curls a gentle, non-existent wind brushed, it isn't wrong, careful of her sensitive and still growing montrals and lekku, he would kiss the very crown of her head, as his Mother had once done long ago and whispered the secret spell to surviving, that; no matter what, it will pass.
i made a spotifly playlist for my wip and now im obsessing over how to time the music to the fic. reaching a word count is one thing but a fucking set time???? ive been trying to add 11 more minutes to 1 hour and 4 minutes of writing for fucking days and i added a total of 2.5k words and i still haven't reached 15 minutes

you know what would go really hard? A fic where it starts off as one of those time travel fix-it aus where someone goes back in time kills anakin and they’re like phew I finally saved the galaxy & they turn around and obiwan just falls instantly
