I want to share an executive dysfunction hack I discovered! (I don't promise it will work for everyone, or all the time, but I've had success so I thought I'd share).
Productive Procrastination
Let's say that I need to study. But for some reason I can't study. I could scroll mindlessly through my phone hoping the ability to study will just appear. (Spoiler alert: it won't).
Instead, I think "ok I can't study, maybe I can clean my room?" So I clean my room.
Sometimes doing a different thing is enough to overcome that stumbling block of Doing Things and after I clean my room, I am able to study. And even if not, hey, at least my room is clean.
Can't make a phone call? Wash the dishes.
Can't clean my room? Water the plants.
I once managed to clean the whole house because I couldn't do one page of paperwork.
