Alistair Petrie to star in 'A Month In The Country' at Donmar Warehouse
Alistair Petrie (Dr Stephen Stanley in The Terror) is starring in 'A Month in the Country' alongside Sophie Okonedo next month!
Running from 22 August - 3 October, this adaption of Ivan Turgenev's most famous play will be staged at London's Donmar Warehouse.
Synopsis: "Natalya Petrovna looks to all the world like a contented woman, but the arrival of a penniless young tutor stirs a restless heart, igniting a spark of desire that sets the Summer ablaze."
It's directed by Lyndsey Turner and adapted by Brian Friel from Ivan Turgenev's original play. Starring Thomas Arnold, Jessica Brindle, Susan Brown, Rachelle Diedericks, Patrick Gibson, Mark Hadfield, Michael Hodgson, Jonathan Livingstone, Sophie Okonedo, Alistair Petrie, Daniel Rigby and Amanda Wilkin.
Performances will be Monday - Saturday at 7.30pm, plus Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm (from 29 August).
Accessibility: There is a Captioned performance on Monday 21 September 7.30pm and an AD performance on Saturday 26 September 2.30pm. Running time TBC.
Pricing: Tickets begin at ÂŁ15 for standing and ÂŁ20 for 35 and under. Other ticket prices are ÂŁ30, ÂŁ55 and ÂŁ70.

Sian Brooke Joins ITV's Mavis Eccleston
Sian joins the cast of the new ITV drama about the suicide pact of Mavis and Dennis Eccleston, a true story that unfolded in the public eye almost a decade ago.
No word yet on what role she'll play or when you can expect to watch the series. But as always, we'll update you as soon as we know.
Besides for her acting chops, Nive is also a very talented musician. She's got a new album coming out this autumn, which you can preorder here.
Alistair Petrie at SDCC MĂĄlaga
Our boy Stanley will be at a Spanish SDCC event this October! The announcement comes after the unfortunate news that he's had to cancel his appearance at Rebel Scum in Texas in summer.

Jared Harris Round-up for 2026
It's a busy year for our Captain Crozier!
Currently, Jared has four upcoming films and is likely shooting season four of Foundation.
The Brink of War (2026)
In a dramatic transformation, Harris will be playing Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the Soviet Union. And yes, as far as we can tell, that is just a bald cap.
Starring Jeff Daniels and J.K. Simmons. Directed by Michael Russell Gunn.
Status: Completed; to be released August 14 in cinemas (US).
Violent Night 2 (2026)
A sequel to the 2022 film Violent Night, where David Harbour played a disgruntled Santa Claus fighting criminals. There isn't a role listed for him in this yet but please god, let Jared beat up Santa or at least some elves.
Starring David Harbour, Kristen Bell and Joe Pantoliano. Directed by Tommy Wirkola.
Status: Post-production.
What Happens At Night
Described as a Gothic psychological thriller, this adaption is naturally getting a lot of buzz for its A-list talent. It wouldn't be a surprise if it's a favourite at award season, as it seems like it will be ready in time for Cannes and the Oscars. Jared's role in this isn't named yet.
Starring Leonardo Dicaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Mads Mikkelsen and Patricia Clarkson. Directed by Martin Scorsese.
Status: Principal photography wrapped February 2026; now in post-production.
The Price of Peace
Another historical figure! Set at the very end of WW2, Jared will be playing Winston Churchill in this drama about the Potsdam Conference. Obviously, Jared is not pictured above.
Starring Guy Pearce as Harry S. Truman and Merab Ninidze as Joseph Stalin. Directed by Anthony McCarten.
Status: In production.
Foundation (2021 -)
As for TV, Foundation was renewed for a fourth season and Harris is expected to return as Hari Seldon. Filming is currently underway in Prague according to this report and it's slated to continue until 12 July 2026. Filming for What Happens at Night took place in Prague a few months ago, with that production wrapping up 35-day shoot in Czechia before moving production to NYC. If that's the case, it would make sense for Jared to shoot these two projects back to back.
Status: In production/filming.

TICKET UPDATE: PAUL READY ONSTAGE IN LONDON
As previously mentioned, Paul Ready (Dr. Henry Goodsir) is bringing his one-man play 'Little Animals' to London's Globe Theatre and Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre this summer - and we have an exciting update for the London show!
Tickets for the general public are going on sale at TOMORROW, 12:00 (GMT) on 9 June 2026. Members of the Globe can buy tickets now!
Event Details
Date: 21 June 2026 at 12pm - 5pm (GMT). We aren't sure what time Paul will be appearing but will update if we find out.
Location: Bankside, The Globe Theatre,  21 New Globe Walk, SE1 9DT.
This performance is part of the Globe Theatre's Climate Open House during London Climate Action Week. The event will include Acapellies and their concert WildSong, the award-winning Letters to the Earth, guest appearances, readings and other activities.
Pricing: This appears to be a free event but there may be different ticket tiers or donations expected/encouraged.

Christos Lawton's Boogaloo Radio Show
For those who don't know, Christos Lawton (Lt. George Hodgson) has a weekly radio show at Boogaloo Radio in London!
Christos used to be a barman at The Boogaloo Pub and now he appears weekly to play a mix of alternative, rock and britpop (he's a big Pulp fan). He's often joined by producer Fred and his partner Grace to talk about film or whatever takes their fancy. He's now been broadcasting for over a year!

Tobias Menzies in Channel 4's "Maya"
It's been a minute since there's been news about this series, but thought we'd shareâit's said to be in post-production, with a release date being announced shortly.
Tobias joins a formidable cast including Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us), Harriet Walter (Succession) and Daisy Haggard (Back to Life). The six part series is a psychological thriller about a mother and daughter entering witness protection. And it's set in Scotland, so expect fun and spooky colour grading, of course.
We'll update and a reblog as soon as Channel 4 makes any more announcements.
PAUL READY STARRING IN NEW DIANE MORGAN SITCOM 'ANN DROID'
Good news for Motherland fans - Paul Ready and Diane Morgan are reuniting for her new sitcom Ann Droid.
Premise: Set in 2029, recent widow Sue (Sue Johnston) is gifted an eldercare robot known as AnnDroid (Diane Morgan) by her well-meaning son, Michael (Paul Ready), before he moves out to fix his struggling marriage. While initially unimpressed, Sue realises she can use the robot to settle old scores and the pair form an unlikely friendship.
The six-part comedy series is written by Morgan and Sarah Kendall, with filming taking place last year.
In a BBC press release, Ready said, "I donât know much, but I do know that if you get a chance to work with Diane Morgan, you take it. Immediately! Canât wait to be reunited and bring Michael to life in her brilliant comic series."
Ann Droid will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Release date TBC but expected summer 2026.
