A pensive nod as he explains the Energon bit a little more to her. So it was an energy source.. Charlie should’ve guessed considering the name, but she’d digress. The scientist’s buzz brings her back, expression a soft blank as he talks. Curiosity, huh? She wants to bet there may be more behind it, but best not push that luck there. She’d wait until maybe he was ready for a further explanation, if there even was more to it beyond his curiosity about her hobby reach.
Hearing him talk about another human – Cade, according to him – perks her up a little. She knew she couldn’t be the only one at ease about this! If another human could find companionship with him, then what’s to say others wouldn’t, too?! –But then she settles. She and Cade make up only two, and by now she’s sure her alien automaton friend here could’ve met many more by now.. Putting it together, that optimistic flash seemed to dull real quick. Again, she’d digress.
“ Cade? —That’s rad. So you’ve met other humans, too? “ Okay, maybe that optimism didn’t completely snuff out. “ Do you think.. more people would be okay with you around, too? Or is the consensus just panic? “
Skywarp didn’t really understand humans all too well. Each had their own way of carrying themselves along with their own unique attitude--but even then the Cybertronians were just like the humans in certain ways. He had a hard time even reading his own kind but that’s what one would get being a huge introvert.
Though the jet did nod in response to Charlie. “I have--fortunately and unfortunately.” Her question though did end up stumping him. “I believe it is mostly panic and chaos, then again, your kind is rather...confusing. I have ran into a few humans who enjoy my company but not many--but that could be mostly because I bear the Decepticon insignia.” Then again, Skywarp didn’t care either way; he’d rather be locked up in his lab and not give a care in the world.
“To be fair, both factions aren’t technically good. I think its more of us being foreign to the lot of the population.” Sure they’d been on Earth, some of them, for centuries but in disguise. “So, why aren’t you afraid of me?” It was an honest question. He assumed at some point, even with Bumblebee she was at least startled but then again who really knew. In the process, he decided to flip his visor upwards into a slot on his helm. At least in the Decepticon’s processor, he was one of the more frightening looking.
Cybertronian Tetrajets in Bumblebee!! Fave point in the new trailer; Seekers getting the spotlight.

It was extremely rare for Prescott to feel the urge to drink, but right now he felt the need to down something strong. Here he was speaking with a sentient machine that was a jet just a few short minutes ago. A jet that could teleport.
“Please tell me that you’re not here with more of your kind. I’m already dealing with a sixteen year long war with another invasive species. Our resources are already stretched too thin.”
But Prescott was not about to divilge that he was the sole reason why the majority of those resources were now gone. Burned, just like the major points of the planet. It wasn’t his proudest moment, only one of absolute necessity.
“Are all of you like this? Do you all hide as jets?”
Skywarp stopped momentarily to think on what type of answer he’d tell this human. “As far as I know, no. I’m the only on here. Got here by accident you see.” Though his red visor did dim a bit before brightening. “What sort of invasive species? Like me or something else--though it sounds like the latter.”
“Though I can understand exhausted resources, far more than you can imagine.” It did seem like to the Outlier that they had something in common. But most of all appreciated the non-hostility that Prescott brought to their interaction.
Prescott’s next words did bring a chuckle from the dark jet. “Hah, no. My kind can disguise themselves as any mechanical object, from cars to boats to handheld devices to jets. It all depends on what they pick I suppose.” In all honesty, Skywarp didn’t know why some chose to be this or that. The only thing he mostly thought about was himself and his partner, both jets and in his processor better than everyone else that functioned. “I was chosen to be flight-capable and jet was what I was destined for,” he said with a bit of sarcasm. He didn’t chose, it was chosen for him to be as such, sure the jet was of his choosing but not to be flight capable.

Skywarp, that was an alternate that Megatron hadn’t met until now. It could have been worse he supposed. He could have met Starscream.
“Are the militarized forces of Cybertronian or alien nature?” Megatron asked.
His attention left Skywarp for only a moment to recheck his surroundings. If the Lost Light was on this planet he hoped that they were safe.
“And why are you here? Are you by yourself?”
🔬 Skywarp gritted his dentae as he stepped closer to Megatron. “They’re human. There’s different militarized groups across the globe, some use advanced weaponry based off our technology.”
Dark arms folded across his chest plating as Megatron spoke. “I’m alone at this location. I don’t get out of my lab often but I’m trying to restock supplies since Thundercracker hasn’t come back with any, nor would the other Decepticons do such a thing for me. Plus trying to get out for once. Your signal popped up while I was in the area, decided to investigate.” The type of signal Megatron gave off was a little bit different than the ones he was used to, nor was it familiar to the Seeker.

Charlie’s real curious about what Energon was, considering that was the only word she didn’t know. The entirety of what he researched sounded really cool, though. She doesn’t know if she’d ever really go into weapons and the like, but the operative basis that weaponry are built on were interesting. Imagine applying those smooth mechanics and quick switches to something like a home assist or to an automated limb? It’d be revolutionary! Not through her, though, of course. She’s more knit and grit with her mechanical abilities. Tinkering was fun, but she liked building life into something, to put it simply.
His question prompts a rise in her brow. “ Oh, no, I do a bit of engine and cycle work with aircrafts. Mostly private flyers, though. “ As great as getting her grubby little hands into a commercial flyer or boeing craft would be, Charlie was really only ever allowed near personal planes and farm flyers. “ Why? “
“It’s hard to function without Energon. It’s what runs us--everything is at a halt unfortunately.” Skywarp depleted his supply and Starscream wasn’t about to just hand more over without presenting something worthwhile.
Skywarp listened intently on Charlie speak. Humans were truly fascinating in his optics. Each one was different. But her question did bring him back to reality. “Err. No reason. Curiosity is all.” The flier didn’t need assistance of any sort but--curiosity didn’t always kill the cat. Not all Decepticons brought violence and Skywarp was one of those very few, unlike Thundercracker. He’d been captured by human forces before and he didn’t want to risk bringing anything to the table that could lead to his misfortune.
“You’re the second human, besides Cade who works on machines and other such technology. He calls himself an inventor and Cybertronian fixer--thing.” He had no idea what to call him. Skywarp assumed she’d get along with him not that he’d set it up; he was far too busy for that. But getting his name out could perhaps strike a connection of interest. “I’m sure you two would get along.” A part of him wanted to have Cade get off his tail with fixing his optics and find somewhere else to fix his attention to.

A scientist, huh? Now that was cool. Charlie didn’t have much an eye for medicine nor a hand that steady to handle any true chemical balancing. She’d stick to her grease monkey habits and hobbies.
“ I’m a mechanical engineer, “ Charlie offers back. Mechanical Engineer just sounded so much more professional than mechanic, especially in the face of a scientist. There was just something to working with her hands, with being able to delve all her attention, strength, and focus into one task that was just so enjoyable to her. Or maybe it was creating something out of pretty much nothing.. Or fixing what other people so easily give up on..
Okay so maybe it was more than just a few several things that kept her hooked on mechanical work, but there’s nothing wrong with it! Just how there’s nothing wrong with being not-so-much a shut in. But she’d digress.
“ What do you study, like, specifically? “
Skywarp’s optics flashed brightly at the words of mechanical engineer. Not that he’d mind at all with someone being a mechanic. It was all in the same for Skywarp. Working with machines or technology of any sort were frustrating in itself. Nor did he care for labels. He’d been branded an Outlier in politeness for being different.
Was this okay to say? Why’d it matter anyways-- “I specialize in weaponry and technology but my focus lately has been on compounds this planet offers. Low on energon in turn makes me curious if I can produce it from something else.” Honestly, the only reason why he joined the Decepticons was for their advancement and availability to higher technology and equipment. Skywarp didn’t care for power or conquest but to only keep to himself in his lab and Thundercracker’s company.
“Mechanics. I assume you work on anything besides aircraft?” Skywarp was only guessing. Earth culture and Cybertronian culture seemed to be vastly different. Then again, they had more in common than he’d realize. Plus, aircraft seemed to be more of a focused specialty but who was he to judge?
// that moment when you ask your friend to ask Universal Studios Hollywood Megatron about TC and Warp and the answer you get is that Optimus Prime killed them and went off on said friend then talked about them and how all his friends are dead. THAT WASN”T THE ANSWER I WANTED GODDAMMIT MY BABIES ALWAYS DIE
Ooo can you draw the Bumblebee movie version of the seekers (Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercrackers) please?
I’m terrible with pulling designs from my ass, but ah well
(wouldn’t it be hilarious if they ended the movie like Despicable Me 2 and had the Seekers in a terribad boyband MV like the Minions lmao)

Prescott took a few more steps back when the jet flared its wings like a large, metal bird. Something was off about this whole situation. This jet wasn’t just a simple machine running on programmed commands. The way it spoke about defending itself and the display it just made was too lifelike. This machine possessed more personality than the bot that Delta squad had to help them on missions. Control finally responded to Prescott’s request for help.
“Give me a moment,” he said before releasing the outgoing button on his earpiece.
“I just threatened you with the most powerful weapon at my disposal and you haven’t made any attempts to flee,” Prescott said, realizing that this thing had no idea who he was talking to.
“Who made you? Where are you from?”
Good. Looked like his intimidation factor worked at least briefly. Every species he ran into always seemed to amaze Skywarp in some fashion. None were the same and they all acted a bit differently to an extent. But this one...this one didn’t seem to want to back down. Truly fascinating.
Skywarp grit his dentae as he awaited briefly, a bit of a growling noise did come from the Seeker but his frame always made noise. Then the other spoke once more. “I’ve had worse threats handed to me by others far taller than yourself. Not that being small is considered weak. Or underestimating what’s at stake here but I’m willing to take the chance. I may not know you or your kind--but I’ve had run-ins in far worse situations, especially from similar species.” Not to mention if he were to set off the weapon and possibly get badly damaged, he could learn off from it. Being a scientist wasn’t all fun and games--nor was it rainbows and butterflies. His optics were badly damaged from weapons that had detonated straight in his face.
“I’m from a planet called Cybertron. Not sure who made me besides the usual stories you hear. I underwent a hatching process like every other one of my kind. But I underwent unstable and high radioactive conditions in order to mutate me at a very early stage. Hence the ability to teleport as you’ve seen already.”

“ —No, it isn’t! “ she blurts. A pointed finger emphasizes her support in such a claim (as if her wide eyed expression didn’t already do that). Charlie would never understand the whole idea behind staying in being a bad thing! Never! Who the heck just goes out all the time? Where are they going? Don’t they get bored going to the same places? Being around random people instead of the comfort of your own space? That just wasn’t for her. Charlie would take her garage, her tools, and her projects over some grody party or get together any day.
“ Not everyone gets that.
Skywarp snorted--in a good way of course. Her reaction amused the Seeker to no end. “I can completely understand. You see, I’m a scientist, so I end up spending most of my time secluded in my lab. But yes many don’t understand.“ Not that he cared what others thought of him, he’d rather not deal with the shit the Decepticons brought most of the time.
A part of the Outlier could see a piece of himself in her but the most fascinating thing is that she didn’t seem afraid of his haunting features. That was definitely added to his records. More knowledge the better for Skywarp. Humans surely were interesting.
