Early stages of 10 layers. Only missing a willing partner.
Almost home. Cozy and comfortable. Ready for just about anything. Who wants to join? Virtually or in person.
Der Winter kann Kommen
Hope you like it. I have the same suit. Fantastic.
When the weather turns hot, sometimes we must think outside the box.
25-hour drysuit session - 1700 on day 2.
Sun’s gone now and it’s starting to get chilly.
Why not add a down suit over the rest of the gear?
Can never be too careful.
25-hour drysuit session, 1700 day 2.
An hour or two with a down suit over the drysuit always adds to the endurance aspect of the session.
How long can you last?
With a down suit or 2... :)
A winter walk in the woods in full waterproofs can leave you quite hot and sweaty.
So when you get home, it makes sense to change into clothes that can cope with a bit of dampness.
Raingear that has been washed will only dry slowly in winter, so it might well be after dark by the time it is ready to bring indoors.
By then it might be quite cold, so you should wear suitable cold weather clothing like a down suit to carry out the job.
Never go out in the dark unprepared.
Down suits - not just for below-zero expeditions.
No need to worry about getting sunburnt.
A hot winter’s evening.
Probably thanks to the drysuit, waterproof layers and the down suit over the top of everything.
Down suit over a drysuit and raingear, with total enclosure…
How long can you last?
Drysuit, down suit or waterproofs?
All of them of course.
And then see how you are doing after an hour.
Insulated!
Wetsuit, raingear, drysuit, donwsuit…
Wetsuit, waterproofs, drysuit, downsuit…
Not so much a question of “will you be warm enough?”, but “how long can you last?”.
